  • Patent number: 8582169
Abstract: A print controlling device includes an acquiring unit, a dividing unit, a first determining unit, and a print data generating unit. The acquiring unit acquires data representing an original image larger than a recording sheet. The dividing unit divides the original image data into image data that represent divisional images having a same size as the recording sheet. A border side has a partition line segments defined between image and margin regions of the divisional image. The original image consists of image regions of the divisional images. The image region represents part of the original image and has a colorant area to be printed with a colorant. The first determining unit determines, if the colorant area abuts a border side, whether a partition line segment abuts the colorant area based on the divisional image data.

  • Patent number: 7916326
Abstract: A system and method for efficient transfer of image data to a service provider comprises a digital image source, an image pump, and a communication path to the service provider. The digital image source may be connected to the image pump using any appropriate communication configuration. Digital image data from the digital image source is transferred to the image pump, which may format the digital image data to conform to requirements of the particular service provider. The image pump may also attach customer account information and user service selections to the digital image data. The image pump may then send the digital image data and any attached information to the service provider. The service provider responsively may perform the requested services and return a finished product to the user.

  • Patent number: 7884970
Abstract: Disclosed are an information processing apparatus and method, a recording medium and a program, by which an image can be fetched in a size appropriate to a user. An image of a subject picked up by a camera is displayed in a predetermined first range corresponding to a size designated in advance within a predetermined display region of an LCD unit which corresponds to an image pickup range of the camera, but the image of the subject picked up by the camera is not displayed in a surrounding range of the predetermined display region around the first range. If a shutter button is depressed in this state, then the image displayed in the first range is stored in the designated size into a memory. The present invention can be applied typically to a PDA, a mobile terminal, a portable telephone set, a desk-top personal computer or the like which has a function as a digital camera.

  • Patent number: 7782494
Abstract: When a facsimile device detects an audio signal via a CNG signal detection unit while detecting an OFF signal in a CNG signal during a telephone conversation, the facsimile device does not detect the audio signal as an OFF signal if the level of the detected audio signal is greater than a threshold and the frequency of the audio signal is within a predetermined audio frequency range. Accordingly, the facsimile device can reliably prevent a false detection of a noise that has a similar signal component to a CNG signal as a CNG signal. It is possible to prevent the facsimile machine from being automatically shifted to a facsimile receiving made by the false detection of the noise.

  • Patent number: 7692806
Abstract: When a user system requests an image processing apparatus to perform a color correction processing and an image processing, an authentication processing is performed between the user system and the image processing apparatus. The user system outputs drawing data and print options to the image processing apparatus, which then performs RIP processing of the drawing data, and an accounting processing for the RIP processing is performed. Subsequently, a print processing of the image data supplied by performing the RIP processing is performed on a printer. Charging for the print processing is conducted.

  • Patent number: 7688472
Abstract: A method of improving edge rendering of objects includes dilation (or contraction) of an object's tag plane by one or more pixels into the surrounding region, with the adjacent tag region having a corresponding contraction (or dilation). The objects of interest (e.g., white text) are first identified; the corresponding object tag plane is then spread or choked, in a fashion analogous to trapping. In the case of negative text on a tint background, by expanding the tag plane for the negative text object, the text hint would be forced one pixel into the tint object plane everywhere along the perimeter of the negative text. This could then enable greatly improved negative text rendering.

  • Patent number: 7652783
Abstract: This invention is directed to a document processing system and method. The method begins with a user logging onto a document processing system, inputs identification data, and selects one or more documents for document processing by the document processing system. The selected document is then uploaded to the document processing system, which renders the document to determine the number of pages and other document relevant information. The user then selects one of the available service locations. The cost associated with the requested document processing operation is then calculated and displayed to the user, along with available payment options. Once the user has selected the desired payment method, the document, with selected options and preferences, is transmitted to the selected service location for output on a document processing device thereon. The received request is stored in queue until such time as the user releases the request for further processing.

  • Patent number: 7599088
Abstract: Planar substrates are printed, cut, and folded to form three-dimensional cartons. Given graphics intended to appear on a carton surface or panel, printed graphics are laid-out and automatically positioned and manipulated using structural information associated with the cartons. Preferably a single computer-generated graphics file is created for use in printing the various panels and flaps. The graphics design can be overlaid on a computer image of the substrate, and graphic portions can be rotated, scaled, and aligned to properly fit printing areas on what will be panels and flaps (after cutting occurs). A computer generated three-dimensional image of the carton showing graphics printed on the panels and flaps can be manipulated by a graphics artist to confirm accuracy of the graphic file data before actual printing occurs.

  • Patent number: 7505171
Abstract: Methods and systems in a printer output device for improving color-imaging rendering utilizing an imaging data stream are disclosed herein. An imaging order is generally associated with the imaging data stream for a plurality of images and overlapping objects to be rendered. The imaging data stream can be designated, such that the imaging order determines color quality rendering thereof. The generated by the printer output device can be rendered utilizing the imaging data stream according to a pre-determined ink color. Imaging separations can also be generated utilizing the imaging data stream, wherein the imaging separations are based on an actual specified color for rendering thereof via the printer output device.
