    Abstract: The invention provides a nanomaterial of polyglycerol grafted cellulose nanocrystal dendrimer and a preparation method thereof. In the present invention, the cotton linter pulp is pulverized into flocculent fibers, fed to sulfuric acid, and reacted. After centrifugation, dialysis and ultrasonic cell disruption, cellulose nanocrystals are obtained. Carboxylated cellulose nanocrystals are further obtained after oxidation with TEMPO, dialysis, and freeze-drying. The carboxylated nanocrystals are further added to DMF, and under a nitrogen atmosphere, glycidol is grafted to the hydroxyl groups on the surface by heating with stirring. After the reaction is completed, the product is centrifuged, dried under vacuum, dialyzed, and freeze dried to obtain a nanomaterial of primary polyglycerol grafted cellulose nanocrystals.

The vitamin E is non-releasable from the unworn contact lens and the contact lens packaging solution has less than 1 ppm of vitamin E present. The vitamin E is trapped, embedded, absorbed, or non-covalently attached in the unworn contact lens.

In one embodiment, a new chemical synthesis route to technologically important biodegradable poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (P3HB) with high isotacticity and molecular weight required for a practical use is described. The new route can utilize racemic eight-membered cyclic diolide (rac-DL), meso-DL, or a rac-DL and meso-DL mixture, derived from bio-sourced dimethyl succinate, and enantiomeric (R,R)-DL and (S,S)-DL, optically resolved by metal-based catalysts. With a stereoselective racemic molecular catalyst, the ROP of rac-DL under ambient conditions produces rapidly P3HB with essentially perfect isotacticity ([mm]>99%), high crystallinity and melting temperature (Tm=171° C.), as well as high molecular weight and low dispersity (Mn=1.54×105 g/mol, Ð=1.01).
