However, the SIM profile has to include infrastructure support before enabling function calls for the new 5G feature; otherwise, an incorrect firmware update may cause the device to cease functioning. The present system may include OTA components on a device server to connect with a network API on the carrier server and perform SIM profile checks before transmitting firmware updates to an OTA agent on the device.
