  • Patent number: 6938801
Abstract: A flowable food dispenser for dispensing a flowable food product. The dispenser includes a housing with first and second bays, and a plurality of cassettes that are removably receivable within the bays. Each cassette is configured for receiving a pouch containing the flowable food. First and second thermal exchange units are associated with the first and second bays, respectively, in heat-exchanging association with the cassettes received therein. A temperature-controlled system is connected with the thermal exchange units for controlling them independently to independently heat or cool the cassettes in the bays and the food product that is disposed therein. A least one dispensing mechanism is associated with the first and second bays to selectively dispense the food from the pouches that are in the cassettes.

  • Patent number: 6685058
Abstract: An aperture forming structure for a sealed containment and dispensing package for flowable products is provided. The structure includes a breakaway tip member of thermoformable plastic. In one embodiment a cap may be integrally formed with the aperture forming structure and may be used to protect the tip member or for reclosing the aperture. An alternative embodiment relates to a pouch, wherein a flap member portion of the pouch is folded over and sealingly attached to the body of the pouch. When the flap member portion is pulled away from the body, an outlet aperture is produced through the surface of the pouch.

  • Patent number: 5611459
Abstract: A method of converting an inverted bottle water dispensing system for use with an automatic bottle refill mechanism. The inverted bottle water dispensing system to which the method relates an open topped cooling reservoir with a mounting adaptor for receiving an inverted bottle water disposed on top of the reservoir. The automatic bottle refill mechanism to which the method relates has a conduit connected to the inverted water bottle and connected to a float valve positioned within the inverted water bottle. The conduit is connected to a pressurized water service so that a continuous replenishing supply of water is supplied as permitted by the float valve. The method includes the step of permanently securing across the open top of the cooling reservoir a rigid closure cap to which a bottom of the mounting adaptor has been permanently secured. The rigid closure cap has a single access opening in liquid communication with the bottom of the mounting adaptor.

  • Patent number: 5443180
Abstract: Method and apparatus for apportionment includes compressing a paste in an apportioning chamber and thereafter delivering the paste towards a nipple after opening of a blocking element, the volume apportioning of the amount of paste to be distributed being undertaken by measuring the displacement of a piston in the apportioning chamber during delivery. The method and apparatus ensure that the apportioning chamber is placed under low pressure so as to facilitate introduction of the paste and delivery of the paste at a fast speed and then at a slow speed.
