  • Patent number: 7417555
Abstract: A device which can be used on rotating visible surfaces of, for example, machines, appurtenances, vehicles, and fans, utilizes N light sources, evenly disposed on a flexible substrate, and connected by means of a driver to a microcontroller with an independent power supply. A synchronization sensor is connected to the microcontroller. The light sources may be LEDs—one- or three-colored (RGB). The synchronization sensor responds to gravity when mounted on a rotating surface, whose rotation axis is not perpendicular to the Earth's surface, or is actuated at a position relative to a given immovable point, provided the rotation axis is perpendicular to the Earth's surface. A light sensor is connected to the microcontroller, which in turn is connected to a control panel. Sensors and the control panel are disposed on the substrate. • Patent number: 7397382
Abstract: A drowsiness detecting apparatus has a pulse wave sensor and a determination circuit. The sensor is provided to a steering wheel to detect a pulse wave of a vehicle driver gripping the steering wheel. The determination circuit generates a thorax pressure signal indicative of the depth of breathing by envelope-detecting a pulse wave signal of the sensor and determines whether the driver is drowsy by comparing a pattern of the thorax pressure signal with a reference pattern. The display and the buzzer notify the driver and any other passengers in the vehicle of the drowsiness of the driver by a visual indication and buzzing sound, respectively. A body surface motion may be used as a signal that indicates the depth of breathing.

  • Patent number: 7394402
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products for alerting a flight crew during landing that the tailwind exceeds acceptable limits. The system determines a base tailwind threshold speed for a candidate runway based on a performance constant associated with an aircraft and candidate runway information and determines present tailwind speed. If the tailwind speed is greater than the base tailwind threshold speed, a tailwind alert is generated. Also, the system determines if the aircraft is in a tailwind alerting mode based on configuration of the aircraft and activates tailwind alerting, if it is determined that the aircraft is in the tailwind alerting mode.

  • Patent number: 7391334
Abstract: A connection checking system of the present invention is arranged so as to apply a power supply voltage which is dropped by the resistance to a terminal when the control substrate and the unit are connected. Then, the control section determines that the unit is connected to the control substrate when the dropped voltage is applied to the terminal. On the other hand, when a dropped voltage is not applied to the terminal, the control section determines that the unit is not connected to the control substrate. The connection checking system of the present invention can be realized by using a conventional power supply cable, a signal cable and a terminal, and thus the connection checking system of the present invention can be manufactured at low costs.

  • Patent number: 7391310
Abstract: A seatbelt alarm device for a vehicle includes a seat sensor, a seatbelt sensor, a judgment circuit, an alarm unit, and a child seat sensor. The seat sensor detects a mass on a seat of the vehicle. The seatbelt sensor detects whether a seatbelt of the seat is engaged with a seatbelt buckle. The judgment circuit generates a demand for a seatbelt-wear alarm upon determining that a mass sits on the seat and the seatbelt is not engaged according to detection signals of the seat sensor and the seatbelt sensor, respectively. The alarm unit generates the seatbelt-wear alarm. The child seat sensor detects a child seat mounted on the seat. The judgment circuit restricts operation of the alarm unit when the judgment circuit determines that the child seat is mounted to the seat according to a detection signal of the child seat sensor.
