  • Patent number: 10652490
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for detecting bad pixels from a pixel array of a device, for capturing an image, that is sensitive to infrared radiation. The method includes: receiving an input image captured by the pixel system, and calculating a score for a plurality of target pixels including at least some of the pixels from the input image. The score for each target pixel is generated on the basis of k pixels of the input image that are selected in a window of H by H pixels around the target pixel. H is an odd integer greater than or equal to 3, and k is an integer between 2 and 5. Each pixel, from the set formed of the k pixels and the target pixel, share at least one border or corner with another pixel from said set, and the values of the k pixels are at respective distances from the value of the target pixel, the k pixels being selected on the basis of the k distances. The method also includes detecting that at least one of the target pixels is a bad pixel on the basis of the calculated scores.

  • Patent number: 10645296
Abstract: A first imaging unit images subject light after angle-of-view mark light is removed by a dichroic mirror, and outputs a first imaging signal. A second imaging unit images the angle-of-view mark light of each of other television cameras. A calculating unit calculates a position of a virtual angle-of-view mark showing an imaging angle of view of each of the other television cameras in an imaging angle of view of the host television camera based on the angle-of-view mark light of each of the other television cameras. An image compositing unit generates a composite image by compositing a virtual angle-of-view mark image and a virtual angle-of-view frame image corresponding to the position of the virtual angle-of-view mark with a video image based on the first imaging signal. The composite image is displayed on a monitor.

  • Patent number: 10634559
Abstract: A spectrally-scanned hyperspectral EO sensor trades the temporal properties of spectral information content for instantaneous situation awareness by capturing an image frame and scanning the spectral scene (wavelength) to build up spectral content. The objective optical system, preferably including a chromatic aberration enhancing device, separates spectral components of the incident radiation. A focus cell is used to adjust a relative axial focus position of the objective optical system with respect to a detector to at least two different axial focus positions to adjust the image position and read out an image frame for a spectrally-weighted component. A processor computes a relative spatial image contrast from a plurality of image frames at different wavelengths as a function of encoded focus cell position. A mechanism may be configured to move the enhancing device in and out of the optical path to form a dual gray-scale and hyperspectral EO sensor.

  • Patent number: 10609266
Abstract: A camera system comprises illumination and optical components that manage illumination from the illumination source to the camera sensor in a highly efficient manner to image a wide field of view. The camera sensor comprises a modular compound imaging lens and a corresponding illuminator. The illuminator is capable of emitting a field of illumination that is wide in one plane (e.g., the tangential plane) and relatively narrow in the orthogonal plane (e.g., the sagittal plane). The modular compound lens receives scattered light from the viewing field and focuses the light to one or more imaging sensors (e.g., 3D imaging sensors). The modular lens images a wide field of view substantially equal to the field of illumination of the illuminator and is oriented such that the field of view of the lens substantially overlaps the field of illumination of the illuminator, yielding a high collection efficiency.
