Abstract: A self-transporting support arrangement particularly useful as a helicopter undercarriage is disclosed. Ground-engaging members, e.g. skids, have associated shoes, and horizontal and vertical force is applied simultaneously between them by a plurality of inflatable bags located between opposed inclined planar surfaces. When friction is overcome, the ground-engaging member slides across the ground, without lifting.
