Patent number: 7459205Abstract: A reinforcing net for use in a reinforcing layer is formed by spacing two parallel spreader yarns under tension and wrapping weft yarns around the two spreader yarns. The reinforcing net can either be affixed to an adhesive coated substrate or coated with adhesive at the intersections of the yarns to bond the net together. The net may be affixed to a plurality of substrates to form a laminate. The net, a ribbon of net with one substrate, and the laminate, may be used in making and reinforcing spirally wound products such as ducts, duct insulation and the like. A number of warp yarns can be included in the reinforcing net to increase its strength. The method of manufacturing the reinforcing net includes the steps of creating tension in the spreader yarns, providing a least one spool for supplying weft yarn, longitudinally advancing the spreader yarns, rotating the spool around the advancing spreader yarns and applying adhesive to the intersections of the yarns.Type: GrantFiled: September 5, 2003Date of Patent: December 2, 2008Assignee: Flexmaster Co. Patent number: 7278091Abstract: Disclosed is a theme property sheet system that supports presentation themes by coordinating values provided to elements used in a user interface. When an interface user expresses a preference for a particular presentation theme, that theme's property sheet is given precedence over other mechanisms for setting property values. By appropriately setting these values in the interface, the theme property sheet enhances the coherence of the interface. The theme property sheet allows an interface designer to add new presentation elements to a user interface without being concerned about presentation themes. The default for each property as set by the designer is overridden, when necessary, by the theme sheet. In a few particular cases, an application designer needs to override even the user's theme preferences. A mechanism is provided to support these exceptional cases.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2003Date of Patent: October 2, 2007Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Nicholas M. Kramer, Mark J. Patent number: 7275206Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for identifying hypertext links in document printouts. A document to be printed is scanned for identifying local hypertext links within the document. A page location of each identified local hypertext links within the document is computed and stored. Printable objects are sequentially checked to identify each printable object within a hypertext anchor tag. Each identified printable object within a hypertext anchor tag is rendered with a predefined indication of the hypertext link. A local hypertext link is printed with a page number of the hypertext link within the document. An external hypertext link is printed with a uniform resource locator (URL) for the external hypertext link. Both the page number of the local hypertext link within the document and the uniform resource locator (URL) for the external hypertext link can be printed, for example, in superscript form and bolded or with other highlighting.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1999Date of Patent: September 25, 2007Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Cary Lee Bates, Paul Reuben Day

Patent number: 7143341Abstract: Concurrent engineering among multiple design groups is facilitated by maintaining design changes in a data model of a design being developed. Design changes for each group are made from a baseline design. Changes are tracked by maintaining change information from all but an owner of the original baseline design. Changes are synchronized by identifying owner and non-owner changes and merging the changes to produce a final design. Since non-owner changes are tracked, the baseline design is not needed in synchronization. Preferably the invention is applied to electronic designs made by multiple design groups at geographically diverse locations. The invention may also be applied to any system where configuration management of developed software, parts, or any design is needed.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2002Date of Patent: November 28, 2006Assignee: Cadence Design SystemsInventor: Vikas Kohli

Patent number: 7120865Abstract: Prioritization of document, such as email messages, is disclosed. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method first receives a document. The method generates a priority of the document, based on a document classifier such as a Bayesian classifier or a support-vector machine classifier. The method then outputs the priority. In one embodiment, the method includes alerting the user based on an expected loss of now-review of the document as compared to an expected cost of alerting the user of the document, at a current time. Several methods are reviewed for display and interaction that leverage the assignment of priorities to documents, including a means for guiding visual and auditory actions by priority of incoming messages.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 1999Date of Patent: October 10, 2006Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Eric Horvitz, Andrew W. Patent number: 7103833Abstract: When print data PD generated by applications 100 is supplied to a graphics library 110 in an order of describing objects, the graphics library 110 makes correspond print data PD to objects so as to store print data PD in a metafile 120. After print data for one page has been stored in the metafile 120, the metafile 120 is retrieved. Thus, print data PD is reconstructed for each band. A printer driver 130 converts reconstructed print data PD into the PDL data PD? so as to transfer the PDL data PD? to an output apparatus 2. A decomposer 140 does not generate intermediate format data and directly develops the PDL data PD? in a band buffer 22. An output device 24 reads raster data RD from the band buffer 22 so as to print an image on a paper sheet.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1998Date of Patent: September 5, 2006Assignee: Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd.Inventors: Makoto Sano, Masaya Miyazaki
