Abstract: An electric flossing apparatus comprising a flossing head which is detachably connected to a handle containing a reciprocating drive unit, a non-powered second handle to allow for the increased controllability of two-handed powered flossing and a disposable floss assembly that can be easily be attached to or released from the flossing head and handle. The floss is releasably attached to the flossing head in a manner that allows reciprocating motion to be imparted along the length of the floss no matter which direction that the floss exits the end of the flossing head or the shape of the path it takes. By using both hands for flossing the floss may be pulled straight and tensioned to facilitate insertion between tightly spaced teeth and then wrapped around a tooth to facilitate cleaning of the front, sides, and back of each tooth above, near, or just below the gum line. The reciprocating motion is imparted to the floss whenever the floss is tensioned.

Abstract: A fingernail polish container and applicator includes a cylindrical transparent container having a pump on one end and an angled applicator tip on the other end. Fingernail polish or fingernail polish remover is stored in the container and is forced to and through the applicator tip by operation of the pump.

Abstract: A hair comb having hot compressing teeth, which in an open mode are shrouded by cooler combing teeth designed to encapsulate hair, and in a triggered mode collapse toward each other to compress the hair confined between the cooler teeth. The compressing teeth are mounted to a collapsible mechanism actuated by the comb's user. Various means may be utilized to transfer thermal energy to the heated teeth, and to allow the combing teeth to remain at a lower temperature.

Abstract: A packaging assembly includes two packaging devices, with each device including a container able to contain a cosmetic and/or care product and a removable closure cap able to close off the container. In addition, a coupling member includes two housings communicating with one another and each opening via a respective opening. Each housing is able to at least partially accommodate one device. Further, the devices are configured to cooperate with one another so as to limit the respective clearances with which they are mounted in their respective housings.

Abstract: A hair trim guide consisting of trim guides attached to a substantial portion of eyeglass frames, consisting of a face frame and a pair of temple pieces is provided. Projecting pegs and apertures enable the trim guides to be removably attached to the frame. Where it is desired to trim sideburns, the trim guides are attached to the temple pieces. When the trim guide is attached to the face frame, bangs may be accurately trimmed.

Abstract: A cosmetics keeping case for storing cosmetics and cosmetic tools which includes an upper movable body, a lower movable body, reception compartments for retaining a number of cosmetics inside the lower movable body and a tool reception element for safely receiving and storing the cosmetic tools, wherein the tool reception element is caused to part 30 elastically rotate by a distortion spring, to a stand up position to make the cosmetic tools accessible, and at the same time, by using a V-shaped spring mounted in the tool reception element to prevent the cosmetic tools from contacting the inner side of the upper movable body and to prevent the brush portions of the cosmetic tools from being pressed flat when the upper movable body is closed on the lower movable body.

Abstract: A braid separation system for facilitating separating the strands of hair of a braid to unravel the braid. The braid separation system includes a pick member for positioning between the strands of the braids and is pulled through the braid to separate the strands of the braids. A reservoir member for holding fluid to be applied to the hair by the pick member to help relax the strands of hair of the braid when the pick member is pulled through the braid. The reservoir member is removably coupled to the pick member. The reservoir member is configured to permit gripping of the reservoir member to facilitate maneuvering of the pick member by the hand of the user.

Abstract: A hand-held device (2) for applying a barrier material (4, 6) to a lock of hair to be treated with a highlighting composition (32) is disclosed. The device may comprise one or two rolls (8, 10) of a tape of barrier material (4, 6) that is dispensed to the lock of hair as the same time as the roll or rolls (8, 10) are unrolled. The device may also contain the highlighting composition (32), either applied on the rolled tape or via a reservoir contained in the body.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush with a built-in toothpaste applicator mechanism, the toothbrush mainly comprising a multiplicity of bristles, a plurality of apertures located between the bristles, a hollow compartment for containing a quantity of toothpaste, a bore connecting the apertures and the hollow compartment, a flexible locking member, and a plunger with a head, a base and a stem. The head of the plunger is dimensioned to achieve a substantially gapless interface inside the hollow compartment for pushing the toothpaste into the bore and out from the apertures. The locking member is secured over the stem of plunger for preventing it from being accidentally pushed into the hollow compartment before using the toothbrush. In order to use the toothbrush, first the locking member is removed. Then the plunger is pushed into the hollow compartment to extract the toothpaste out from the plurality of apertures and on to the bristles.

Abstract: An electrically operated sander for removing calluses and increasing circulation, having a rectangular base unit for insertion into a docking unit. The base unit has a rear end, and includes a movable base plate having rounded edges and a grainy surface area and a gripping handle. The gripping handle extends outwardly from the base unit and defines a curved junction before extending horizontally toward the rear end of the base unit. The base unit houses a motor having a drive shaft mechanically linked to base plate. A rotating two position on-off switch actuates the motor, causing the base plate to vibrate. A rectangular docking unit has a hollow cavity for accepting the gripping handle of the base unit therein for allowing users a hands free method of removing calluses.

Abstract: The present invention provides a hair extension apparatus and kit and method of making and using such hair extension apparatus. The hair extension apparatus include an anchor band constructed of a flexible material having a frontal outer surface, a rear inner surface and mounting holes for accepting a portion of primary hairs and a plurality of supplementary hairs permanently engaged with the anchor band and extended away from the frontal outer surface so as to drape downwardly. The hair extension apparatus may optionally comprise attachment means to be used in conjunction with the portion of primary hairs to form a secured attachment between the anchor band and the user's head.

Abstract: A hair styling apparatus includes a pair of mating surfaces which engage one another and a handle which guides them into engagement at the manual control of a user. Hair to be styled is placed between the engaged surfaces. A plurality of pins extend from one of the surfaces and engage holes in the other of the surfaces. In another aspect of the invention, one or both surfaces may incorporate a source of dry heat. In yet another aspect of the invention, a source of steam is provided together with a trigger for discharging the steam through holes in at least one of the surfaces as an aid to hair styling.

Abstract: An imprinting device for a cosmetic product is shown. The imprinting device comprises a transparent substrate and an application element which is fixedly or removeably affixed to and protrudes outwardly from one surface of the transparent substrate. The application element has an exterior surface defining an imprinting member configured to have a cosmetic product coated thereon to be imaged with a surface. A sufficient distance between the one surface and the imprinting member to inhibit a cosmetic product from contacting the one surface when a cosmetic product is coated onto the imprinting member. The application element may be removeably attached to the transparent substrate such that a portion of the application element can be repositioned on the transparent substrate to vary the characteristics of the imprinting member image.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses and systems directed to wigs and manufacturing them. Methods are described in which an attachment fiber, in certain embodiments having adhesive properties, is used to secure the hair to the wig base. In certain embodiments the attachment fiber's outer layer is melted to form an adhesive while the inner layer or layers are not melted and retain their strength. The attachment fiber can then be secured to the wig base in a way which permits the permanent setting of the hair's direction and is less visible than conventional methods at the hairline.

Abstract: An orthodontic flossing implement and method of use thereof, wherein the present implement comprises a handle from which extends a flat, narrow arm, and wherein the tip of the arm comprises a slit or aperture through which a desired length of floss is inserted. The narrow arm, with the length of floss threaded therethrough, may be quickly and simply inserted underneath a selected arch or pass of a brace wire, wherein the length of floss hanging from the arm aperture may then be easily grasped and worked within and along the inter-dental space disposed proximate or behind the selected wire arch. Thereafter, the arm of the flossing implement is retracted and systematically moved between each arch of the wire, whilst maintaining the floss through the aperture of the arm, whereupon each respective underlying inter-dental space may be conveniently and quickly flossed.

Abstract: A hair curling device as disclosed which is comprised of a contoured elongated cylindrical body member on which a spiral groove is formed. The spiral groove has a progressively decreasing diameter towards its longitudinal center with multiple notched raised spiral ridges. An elastic band and retainer plug extend between said respective free ends resiliently engaging and restraining strands of hair would within the spiral groove and registerably received within the notch raised spiral ridges in a progressive manner.

Abstract: A dental floss holder including: a base portion; a pair of spaced-apart jaws extending from the base portion to accommodate a length of dental floss there-between; the spaced-apart jaws having at least one cavity for loading a composition containing flavor and/or a chemotherapeutic agent; and at least one flange for each cavity is disclosed. The dental floss holder provides an improved means for retaining flavor and or chemotherapeutic compositions within the cavity until the dental floss holder is used.

Abstract: A method of flossing and flossing system utilize a piece including stretchable and flexible material having an inner and an outer surface. The piece is adapted to be placed around a finger on a hand. The method includes placing the piece around a finger of a first floss-receiving hand; providing a length of non-soiled dental floss; tightly winding a segment of the length of floss around the piece so that the segment of floss overlaps itself at least once; taking another segment of the length of floss with another floss-feeding hand so that a flossing segment of the length of floss is left between the two hands for flossing teeth; and flossing using the flossing segment of the length of floss between the two hands. Also a dental floss system includes the piece and a length of dental floss.

Abstract: A nail treating tool having a graspable handle, a first treating surface, and a second treating surface. The first and second treating surfaces are interchangeably placeable in an operative position relative to the graspable handle such that the graspable handle can be grasped by a user and manipulated to bear one of the first and second treating surfaces that is in the operative position against a nail to effect treatment thereof.

Abstract: A dental floss holder for storing and manipulating dental floss used for cleaning a person's teeth comprises a housing, a spool, a fork, a bottom board, a fasten wheel, a block member, a sleeve, a retrieving wheel, a retaining portion and a roll of dental floss which is reeled in the spool, wherein the housing has a position base and an assembling zone at two ends thereof being opposite to each other. The fork is fitted on the position base, the block member is assembled on the housing, the retaining portion is assembled on the bottom board, and the spool, the fasten wheel, the retrieving wheel, the sleeve are defined to coaxially assemble with the assembling zone.
