  • Patent number: 11744970
Abstract: An airway adjunct or airway assembly that comprises a gas administration tube and a gas sampling tube can be utilized to improve health care to a patient. The gas administration tube may be connected, for example, to an oxygen source. The gas sampling tube may be connected, for example, to capnography equipment. Internal terminal ends of the gas administration tube and gas sampling tube can be longitudinally offset from one another within the airway assembly, which may reduce diffusion of the exhaled gas to be sampled, thereby increasing monitoring accuracy. Some embodiments of the present disclosure comprise an airway adjunct adaptable to attach into or onto various types of airway devices.

  • Patent number: 11744968
Abstract: A positive airway pressure apparatus is automatically adjusting. Pressure increases in response to apnea events when the apparatus is in one or more responsive states. Pressure does not increase in response to apnea events when the apparatus is in a non-responsive state. The apparatus switches between responsive and nonresponsive states depending upon any of a number of different criteria that help differentiate between open airway apnea events and closed airway apnea events.

  • Patent number: 11707584
Abstract: An inhaler (60) has a breath actuated trigger mechanism (100) reactive to an inhalation flow to trigger the release of a substance to be inhaled. The inhaler (60) has an inspiration flow which is subject to a higher degree of flow governing post-triggering than pre-triggering. This allows the triggering flow rate to be closer to, or even higher than, the governing flow rate of the inhaler.

  • Patent number: 11690460
Abstract: An air purifying bed tent is disclosed, having a tent made from a semipermeable material suspended over a raised platform, thereby creating an enclosure for a user to be inside. An air purifying device is connected to the top of the tent, letting purified air into the enclosure and creating a local clean air zone for users. The positive pressure difference building up in the enclosure from the constantly added clean air forces clean air out through a plurality of openings, primarily through creases in the semipermeable material around the raised platform. Should the skirting be completely sealed, the semipermeable material will let out the pure air to a higher degree, ensuring a stable and easy touse operation.

  • Patent number: 11684541
Abstract: The present invention is a method for improving hemodynamics and clinical outcome of patients suffering cardiac arrest and other low-flow states by combination of circumferential constriction and anteroposterior compression decompression of the chest cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Anteroposterior compression decompression may be provided by a piston mechanism attached to a gantry above the patient. Circumferential constriction may be achieved by inflation of pneumatic bladders or shortening of a band. The on-off sequence and relative force of circumferential constriction and anteroposterior compression decompression may be adjusted so as to improve efficacy.

  • Patent number: 11666723
Abstract: A nasal cannula includes a distribution conduit running along a virtual distribution path. The distribution path defines a longitudinal direction and has two branch openings. A respective supply conduit branches off from each branch opening. The distribution conduit also has two coupling openings arranged spaced apart from the branch openings. The nasal cannula has a plug via which one of the two coupling openings can be sealed as a closure opening. Another of the two coupling openings is designed as a supply opening. The plug has a flow-directing configuration with an exposed flow-directing surface. In a reference state in which the plug is closing the closure opening, the flow-directing surface is arranged in the distribution conduit in the longitudinal extension region of at least one branch opening and positioned relative to the distribution path to deflect treatment gas flowing in the distribution conduit from the supply opening along the distribution path towards at least one of the branch openings.

  • Patent number: 11660410
Abstract: Gas mixture used for ventilation of passengers and crew in emergency situations. Depending on the density altitude, it has 7±5% CO2 at 15,000 ft flying altitude increasing to 17±5% CO2 at 30,000 ft flying altitude. The carbon dioxide improves the bioavailability of oxygen in the body. The gas mixture is produced by additive dosage of CO2 to either pure O2 or to a gas mixture having a fraction of N2 and a fraction of O2. The method for ensuring good ventilation in case of loss of cabin pressure, or generally in case of hyperventilation, involves making the gas mixture above available via respiration masks. The use of such a gas mixture also for ensuring good ventilation of people with limited mobility, if such ventilation is required. The prescribed amount of onboard oxygen for aircraft can thus be reduced and flight routes leading directly over high-altitude terrain may be taken.
