Abstract: A changing carrier for a playard includes a frame used to be attached detachably to the top of the playard, and a fabric body wrapping around the frame to confine a receiving space within the frame. The frame includes a pair of brackets, each of which is adapted to be connected slidably and detachably to a respective one of two upper side rails of the playard. The frame is movable relative to the playard between a detached position, where each bracket is not connected to the respective upper side rails, and a stop position, where each bracket connects to the respective upper side rail and where the frame abuts against an upper end rail of the playard interconnecting the upper side rails.
Abstract: A bed frame which can be assembled without the use of additional tools and may be collapsed for shipping. The bed frame comprises a pair of side rails, three cross rail assemblies and mounting brackets. Each of the cross rail assemblies is adjustable in length and comprises multiple movable members. Each cross rail member has a projection which fits inside a cavity of a leg assembly secured to one of the side rails. To disassemble the bed frame, the cross rail assemblies may be removed from the side rails without any tools.

Abstract: An adjustable bed having two bedframe halves and a gear hinge assembly for simultaneously translating the bedframe halves and for rotating one bedframe half. The gear hinge assembly is mounted to a carrier assembly that provides lateral movement and causes the bedframe halves to move from side to side. The gear hinge assembly includes an arm mounted to each bedframe half and a pair of nested cups, including gears, which are mounted to one of the arms. A pair of offset gear tracks interact with one of the gears at a time to cause the gear to rotate. When the gear rotates, the arm connected to the gear also rotates. The rotation of one arm and bedframe half occurs simultaneously with the translation of both bed halves.
Abstract: A patient support system includes a floor cavity in the floor of a treatment room; a patient support device comprising a treatment table; a base; a first movement mechanism on which the treatment table is mounted; a second movement mechanism mounted on the base and attached to the first movement mechanism, wherein the first and second movement mechanisms are moveable independently of each other; the first movement mechanism is configured to raise and lower the treatment table and the second movement mechanism is configured to raise and lower the first movement mechanism such that in a lowered position the second movement mechanism is contained within the floor cavity.
Abstract: A patient transfer device and an associated method of transferring a patient using the device are described. The device, which can be used anytime a patient needs to be moved or transferred out of bed especially in those circumstances wherein the patient is in any way incapacitated and is unable to move or assist in the transfer, transfers the patient laterally from a longitudinal side of the bed onto the device. The transfer can be accomplished with minimal medical staff interaction and as such significantly and substantially reducing the risk or injury and harm not only for the patient but also the staff.
