  • Patent number: 11159732
Abstract: A method of capturing an image of a scene. A current location of a plurality of objects in a frame of a video capturing the scene having one or more events of interest, is determined. For at least one of the events of interest, a time and a location for each of the plurality of objects associated with the event of interest is predicted based on the current location of the plurality of objects. A frame subset score is determined for each of a plurality of frame subsets in the frame, each of the plurality of frame subsets including one or more of the plurality of objects based on the predicted time and the predicted location for the event of interest. One of the determined plurality of frame subsets is selected based on the determined frame subset score. An image of the event of interest is captured using a camera, based on a camera orientation setting for the selected frame subset, where the captured image comprises the selected frame subset.

  • Patent number: 11095877
Abstract: Innovations in motion estimation adapted for screen remoting scenarios are described. For example, a video encoder calculates a hash value for a current block in a current picture. The video encoder searches, subject to a spatial constraint, for a matching block in a reference picture (e.g., the previous picture in display order) based at least in part on the hash value for the current block. The spatial constraint defines a search area in the reference picture within which hash values for candidate blocks in the reference picture may be compared to the hash value for the current block. By using a spatial constraint to limit the range of the local hash-based motion estimation, the video encoder can speed up the motion estimation process while still considering the candidate blocks in the reference picture that are most likely to match the current block.

  • Patent number: 11080863
Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes a photometric sensor, and can continuously acquire a plurality of images by a single imaging operation. A CPU for image processing and an arithmetic operation acquires image data output by a photometric sensor and performs photometric processing. The CPU determines presence or absence of a flicker light source using a plurality of pieces of acquired image data, and calculates a motion vector of an object by comparison of image data. If it is determined that there is a flicker light source in a photographing environment, gain adjustment is performed on the basis of a result of flicker detection so as to have a brightness of an image suitable for detection of a motion vector, and the motion vector is calculated using image data after gain adjustment.
