  • Patent number: 9446488
Abstract: Blind inserts for use with sandwich panels and methods for manufacturing the same. A blind insert can include a nut arranged in an insert. The insert can include a cavity at an end of the nut. When a screw is screwed into the nut, the screw can enter the cavity and dig into the insert. The interference between the insert and the screw can provide friction that prevents the screw from loosening in a vibrating environment. The blind insert can be made by placing a mandrel into the nut. The mandrel includes a nose that extends past the end of the nut. When the insert is molded around the nut, the mandrel prevents mold material from entering a threaded aperture of the nut and forms the cavity in the insert. The blind insert can also be made by placing a cap that defines the cavity on the end of the nut. The insert can be molded around the cap and the nut.

  • Patent number: 8790057
Abstract: A fastener having a shaft, a threaded portion, a positioning member and a rivet head. The shaft has a first diameter and extends from a first end to a second end. The threaded portion is positioned on the shaft. The positioning member is provided on the shaft proximate the second end. The rivet head extends from the second end of the shaft in a direction away from the first end, with the rivet head having a second diameter which is less than the first diameter of the shaft. The rivet head is configured to be deformed such that the deformed rivet head has a third diameter which is greater than the first diameter, thereby securing the fastener to a mating member which is positioned between the positioning member and the deformed rivet head.

  • Patent number: 8578557
Abstract: A patch fitting for a glass door includes a mount for being mounted on a floor, a shaft connected with the mount, a clamping seat pivotally connected with the shaft, and a piston unit installed inside the clamping seat. When the glass door is sweeping to open or close, the clamping seat will turn along with the sweeping movement of the glass door about the shaft and the piston unit will be pushed by an eccentric cam of the shaft to press the hydraulic oil contained in the clamping seat so as to provide a damping resistance in response to the sweeping movement of the glass door. The patch fitting can be easily installed on the floor by a simple work.
