  • Patent number: 11765396
Abstract: Reducing artifacts in decoded images includes decoding a first facet of an image, where the first facet includes first edge pixels. A second facet of the image that includes second edge pixels is decoded. The first edge pixels are not adjacent to the second edge pixels and the second facet is decoded independently of the first facet. The first edge pixels are copied to an area adjacent to the second edge pixels. The second edge pixels are filtered using the copied first edge pixels. The second edge pixels are copied to an area adjacent to the first edge pixels. The first edge pixels are filtered using the copied second edge pixels.

  • Patent number: 11750768
Abstract: An image processing unit identifies the shape of an obstacle that is identified from an area that appears in a peripheral image based on an image captured by a camera. The shape of the obstacle includes at least a tilt of a section of the obstacle in a road-surface direction. The section of the obstacle faces a vehicle. The image processing unit generates a superimposed image in which a mark image that is generated as a pattern that indicates the identified obstacle is superimposed onto a position that corresponds to the obstacle in the peripheral image. At this time, the image processing unit variably changes properties of the mark image based on the tilt of the obstacle identified by an obstacle identifying unit. The image processing unit then displays the generated superimposed image on display apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11743535
Abstract: Methods and systems for packaging, transcoding, and fragmenting files (e.g., video content are described. Video content may be transcoded into fix size, variable duration fragments files that satisfy a target fragment file size. Those fragment files may be received, decoded to recover original frames of the underlying video, and then repackaged as new fragment files that are grouped based on overall file size. As a result, the new fragments may have different playback durations, but their overall file sizes may be the same and/or within a target fragment file size (TFS).

  • Patent number: 11722716
Abstract: One aspect of the instant application facilitates reduction of multicast group join latency. During operation, the system can receive, at a network device, a first multicast group leave packet corresponding to a first multicast group. In response to receiving a first multicast group leave packet from an IPTV client, the system can simulate a second multicast group join on behalf of the IPTV client by updating, based on a predictive model, at least an entry in a table maintained in hardware with a next likely multicast group that the IPTV client is likely to join; and sending a simulated second multicast group join packet for initiating an IPTV stream associated with the next likely multicast group. In response to receiving an actual second multicast group join packet from the IPTV client, the system can facilitate the IPTV stream to the IPTV client, thereby reducing multicast group join latency.

  • Patent number: 11716513
Abstract: An online system receives video data items from users and encodes the video data items using various codecs. To account for different computational resources used for encoding using different codecs, the online system ranks combinations of video data items by ratios of encoding video data items with different codecs to computational costs of encoding different video data items with different codecs. The benefit of encoding a video data item with a codec is based on a compression efficiency of the codec and a predicted aggregate amount of the video data item displayed to various users of the online system. Encoding video data items with codecs based on the determined ratios allows the online system to optimize a duration of video data having at least a threshold video quality to users.

  • Patent number: 11689758
Abstract: An addressable asset system (100) includes user equipment devices (UEDs) (102), a cloud decisioning system (CDS) (106) and a business data management system (BDMS) (108). The BDMS (108) collects information that is used by the CDS (106) to manage delivery of assets by the UEDs (102). In an exemplary network architecture, the CDS (106) is independent of the network insertion and delivery equipment. In particular, the broadcast content stream is delivered to the UED (102) by a digital content management(DCM) system (110) and certain assets are separately delivered to the UED (102) by the asset download network (AND) (112). This allows the CDS (106) to remain independent of the network of the UED (102) such that the CDS (106) can operate across networks.

  • Patent number: 11689722
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method of decoding a current video block in a video picture. From several partitioning schemes, the method identifies a partitioning scheme that is used to partition the current video block. Based on the identified partitioning scheme, the method selects one derivation to compute a first quantization parameter for the current video block from several candidate derivations for computing the first quantization parameter. The method computes a second quantization parameter for the current video block based at least in part on the computed first quantization parameter. The method then uses the computed second quantization parameter to decode the current video block.

  • Patent number: 11675775
Abstract: Provided are methods, devices, and computer-program products for determining an accuracy score for a device mapping system. In some examples, the accuracy score can be based on a device map of the device mapping system and viewing data from an automated content recognition component. In such examples, the accuracy score can indicate whether the device mapping system is assigning similar categories to devices that have similar player of media content. In some examples, a device map can be determined to be random, indicating that the device mapping system is inaccurate. In contrast, if the device map is determined to have a sufficiently low probability of being merely random in nature, the device mapping system can be determined to be accurate.

  • Patent number: 11677969
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and an apparatus including processing circuitry that decodes coded information of a coding block (CB) in a picture from a coded video bitstream. The coded information indicates a width W and a height H of the CB. The processing circuitry partitions the CB into sub-processing units (SPUs) having a width being a minimum one of W and K and a height being a minimum one of H and K. At least one of the width W and the height H is larger than a processing data unit size K. The processing circuitry determines a partitioning structure to partition the SPUs based on the width, the height, and a maximum transform unit (TU) size M. At least one of the width and the height is larger than M. The processing circuitry partitions each of the SPUs into TUs of M×M based on the partitioning structure.
