  • Patent number: 11872576
Abstract: A nozzle for a filter cleaning system has a stub portion having an inlet opening and an outlet opening, and a splitter portion positioned downstream of the stub portion. The splitter portion has deflector surfaces arranged to direct the airflow exiting the stub portion outlet in 3 or more different/separate airstreams each of which airstreams are directed inclined axially outwardly from the axial direction of the airflow exiting the stub portion outlet opening. The various parameters of the splitter nozzle portion can be tailored to provide required jet shape and entrainment characteristics. A beneficial feature of the nozzle designs is that jet entrainment and recombination of flows can be specified for different shaped filters.

  • Patent number: 11825974
Abstract: To make a flavored beverage, plant matter is inserted into a bottle through the neck of the bottle. Afterwards, a generally tubular strainer is inserted into the bottle. The tubular strainer has a flange that sealingly abuts against the neck of the bottle. The bottle is filled with a water-based liquid and capped. By inserting the plant matter before the strainer, the plant matter is trapped between the strainer and the bottle wall, making it visible from the outside if the bottle is clear. The strainer prevents the plant matter from being ingested by the user.

  • Patent number: 11772887
Abstract: A disposable oil filter containment sheath is provided for use during oil changes for combustion engines. The sheath has a closed bottom, a cylindrical sidewall, and an open top. The resilient sheath is rolled to an initial collapsed position for placement on the bottom of an oil filter mounted on the engine, and it is partially unrolled along the filter. The filter can then be loosened to allow oil to drain into the sheath for capturing a reservoir. After the filter is removed from the engine, the sheath is completely unrolled and tied at the top so as to fully enclose and contain the oil filter and oil. The sheath and its contents are then ready for disposal.

  • Patent number: 11739599
Abstract: An apparatus and method for separating solid matter from liquid matter includes a container, a gas buster, a trough, a winch, and a filter. The gas buster is positioned above the container to dissipate energy associated with incoming solid matter and liquid matter. The trough is positioned below an outlet of the gas buster and has a bottom sloping from a high end to a low end with an opening at the low end. The filter is positionable below the opening of the trough in a way that the solid matter and the liquid matter passing from the opening of the trough enter the filter wherein the liquid matter passes through the filter and into the container and the solid matter is collected in the filter. The filter is removable from the container to permit the amount of solid matter collected in the filter to be determined.

  • Patent number: 11731082
Abstract: A method and system for water-priming carbon micropore filter media using negative pressure. The method includes placing dry filter elements in a polymer bag, applying a vacuum of no more than approximately 33 kPa above zero pressure, and heat-sealing the bag using a heat-set bar; submerging, by a consumer, the vacuum-sealed bag with its the filter elements in water; the filters in the vacuum sealed bag are at least partially submerged, puncturing the bag to form one or more small openings in the bag below the water line. Breeching the vacuum causes the water to flow through the openings into the bag and the filter(s) to equalize the pressure between the water and the previously vacuum environment of the plastic bag, causing the surrounding water to quickly flow into the micro-pores of the filter media, thereby priming the carbon filter for use in the gravity-fed water-purification system.
