  • Patent number: 4467379
Abstract: A recording and/or reproducing device arranged to use a cassette containing a recording medium such as a tape, includes a tape loading mechanism operative to displace the tape contained in the cassette to a position at which the tape is in operative relation to a recording head. A cassette displacing arrangement into which the cassette is first loaded is movable to a position where the cassette is in operative relation to the tape loading mechanism. A member on the displacing arrangement serves to hold the cassette at a certain position relative to the displacing arrangement so that the cassette will be moved into operative relation with the tape loading mechanism by the displacing arrangement.

  • Patent number: 4467376
Abstract: For recording on, and reading of, a magnetic tape guided around a cylinder, there are several magnet heads arranged on a common circle diameter. The magnet heads revolve about a common axis extending obliquely with respect to the travel direction of the tape. The magnet heads interact with the tape through a slot-shaped aperture formed in the cylinder. For the purpose of achieving a very simple tape-guiding system, the tape is guided in a direction perpendicular to the cylinder longitudinal axis over a cylinder surface which, at least in its tape-guiding zone, and viewed in a section perpendicular to the cylinder longitudinal axis, corresponds at least approximately to a projection of the circular motion performed by the magnet heads in a direction perpendicular to the tape travel direction.

  • Patent number: 4467380
Abstract: A cassette loading/unloading apparatus for a slot-in type cassette tape recorder is provided with a toggle spring and an ejecting spring. The toggle spring is so disposed that a drawing-in stroke is larger than a pushing-in stroke at cassette insertion. The ejecting spring is disposed independently of the sliding stroke of a slider which slides together with a cassette inside a cassette holder at the cassette insertion. A biasing force is charged in the ejecting spring in concert with the ejecting stroke of an ejecting plate at cassette ejection, thereby applying an ejecting force to the slider.

  • Patent number: 4466030
Abstract: A cassette loading/unloading apparatus for a slot-in type cassette tape recorder is provided with a toggle spring and an ejecting spring. The toggle spring biases a slider which slides together with a cassette inside a cassette holder at cassette insertion. The ejecting spring is stretched between the cassette holder and an operating plate slidably attached to the cassette holder, functioning as a return spring for the operating plate. The ejecting spring is charged with a biasing force in concert with and only by the slide of the slider at the cassette insertion, and is disengaged from the slider to be locked to a charged state when the slider passes the neutral point of the toggle spring. The charged biasing force of the ejecting spring is caused to act as an ejecting force on the slider at cassette ejection.

  • Patent number: 4443826
Abstract: The present invention is directed to improvements in a perpendicular magnetic recording-reproducing head. One of the improvements comprises the use of a magneto-resistive effect element to form the main pole of the magnetic head. This feature of the invention enables a stable and faithful reproduction of information recorded in a magnetic recording medium up to the shortest wavelength and to obtain a sufficiently large reproducing output signal. Another improvement comprises the use of such magneto-resistive effect elements in layers. The multilayer structure permits production of a large reproducing output and also an optimum S/N ratio even if the width of track is small.

  • Patent number: 4438470
Abstract: A process for making magnetic reluctance effect type magnetic heads comprises forming the magnetic sensor, first lead and second lead sections in series by use of the same material. The noise in the magnetic head is reduced, yet the output is increased by making the first lead section of a width larger than that of the magnetic sensor and second lead sections. The reproducing sensitivity of the magnetic head is increased by forming a plurality of magnetic sensor sections in series within a rectangular area. The control of the magnetic characteristics of the head are controlled for providing less dispersion by providing a substrate on which a magnetic reluctance effect type material varying in electric resistance in response to any magnetic field is formed into a film, the substrate being optionally etched by the use of photolithography to form the magnetic sensor sections, the first lead section and the second lead section on the substrate in given configurations.

  • Patent number: 4426668
Abstract: A high-speed tape transport system in a magnetic reproducing apparatus. The reproducing apparatus includes a reel for taking up a magnetic tape on which an information signal and a control signal have been recorded. The system comprises a control head for reproducing the control signal from the magnetic tape, a frequency-voltage converter for producing a voltage corresponding to the frequency or period of the control signal thus reproduced. Moreover, the system includes a reel motor for rotating the reel and a circuit for controlling the reel motor's rotational speed in response to the voltage produced by the frequency-voltage converter. Consequently, the rotational speed of the reel motor is controlled so that the magnetic tape is travelled at a constant high speed.
