  • Patent number: 7220160
Abstract: A gun grip controller includes a rod-shaped controller body having a trigger-shaped lever and a steering dial or the like, for controlling a model car or the like, and a grip provided to protrude from the controller body. The grip is arranged so as to be rotatably attached to the controller body and also adapted so as to allow an occupation of both a protrusive position where the grip protrudes from the controller body in a direction crossing the longitudinal direction of the controller body, and a folded position where the grip is folded along the longitudinal direction of the controller body and adjacent to the outside of the controller body. Therefore, it is possible for the controller to occupy a compact configuration for packing and carrying purposes, in spite of its “gun-grip” configuration.

  • Patent number: 7198568
Abstract: An image processing mechanism of a game apparatus includes a first motion control mechanism and a second motion control mechanism. The first motion control mechanism controls the motion of a first character appearing in a game space in response to an operation performed on a first operation switch included in a plurality of operation switches. The second motion control mechanism controls the motion of a second character also appearing in the game space but different from the first character in response to an operation performed on a second operation switch, and changes the motion of the first character based on the motion of the second character. Thus, the present game apparatus makes a relationship between a player and subjects of operation involved, thereby allowing the player to experience a novel sensation in playing a game.

  • Patent number: 7128644
Abstract: A coin rolled from a first end of a surface to a second end of a surface is detected by a sensing device. The sensing device causes a video screen to display a coin generated video object in response to the detection of the coin near the second end of the surface. The video screen may also display at least one target video object. The coin generated object may be displayed by the video screen in a manner so that it appears that the coin generated object moves on the video screen in a direction related to the direction of the physically rolling coin. The target video object may change from a first state to a second state on the video screen when the coin generated object is within a specified range of the target video object.

  • Patent number: 7108602
Abstract: A reel spinning gaming device 10 includes a plurality of selectable reels 20 each having game symbols 30 located thereon, a selection system 40, and an actuating system 50. Each reel displays an outcome symbol 30 after having been spun. The selection system 40 designates a subset of the selectable reels as the initial active reels 70 for the initial game. The actuating system 50 then spins the initial active reels 70, after which a prize may be awarded dependent upon the combination of the outcome symbols 30 from the initial active reels 70. The selection system 40 then designates a new subset of the selectable reels 20 as the active reels 70 for each subsequent consecutive game by substituting a non-active reel from the previous game with an active reel from the previous game. The actuating system 50 then spins the newly substituted active reel.

  • Patent number: 7103309
Abstract: An audio-visual educational device including a housing including a plurality of separate viewable indicia each representative of an object which produces a distinctive audible sound associated with the corresponding object. A sound emitting area is also provided in the housing in close proximity to each object. An electronic controller operably mounted in the housing selectively produces and emits or causes to be emitted through an audio output device each of the distinctive audible sounds from the corresponding sound emitting area responsive to manual selection of one viewable indicia. The user then receives an audible queue in the form of the audible sound to look in the direction of sound emanating from the corresponding sound emitting area thereby learning to associate the selected viewable object with its corresponding audible sound.

  • Patent number: 6970826
Abstract: A system and method for handling the return of items supplied by a store. The method entails building a list of items to be returned on a local computing device. The list is sent to a remote server that handles returns for the store. The remote server returns a confirmation of the items that are returnable and/or of items that are not returnable. As the list is built, each item is compared to a return policy of the store and added to the list only if the item qualifies as returnable. The method also allows for requesting the store to honor the return of items that do not qualify for return. Provision is also made for scheduling pickup of items to be returned.

  • Patent number: 6847943
Abstract: The method discloses a rule-based decision process which formulates an investment strategy in terms of short term debt, long term debt, short term equity, and/or long term equity for a variety of property types and geographic markets. The first phase of the method achieves a visual representation of the condition of each of a selected territory's major markets, showing market direction and volatility determined on the basis of commercially available market research data which has been adjusted by the investing entity in light of actual local experience in the market. The second phase deals with the implications of the first phase results on four possible alternative investment types, namely, short term debt, long term debt, short term equity, and/or long term equity. This is accomplished by formulating a set of decision rules which enable the individual investors of the investing entity to uniformly evaluate specific types of investment for each property type in a respective market area.
