  • Patent number: 4767038
Abstract: A support device for the spare wheel of a motor vehicle includes a box member attachable to a rear frame portion and including a front lockable cover to prevent access to interior bolts holding the box member on the frame. The box member includes an upstanding latch plate and carries pivotally on pivot pins through the side walls thereof, a support member including a cradle and an upstanding portion which has a slide movable vertically to engage behind the latch portion of the box member. The sides of the cradle include cut-outs so the cradle can wrap around the bumper and the slide engage behind the bumper onto the latch plate. The slide is lockable in position and the spare wheel sits in the cradle and can be locked to the upright. The device is therefore mounted entirely on the frame of the vehicle and is separate from the bumper and does not require any drilling or modification of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4765521
Abstract: Anti-theft cable-locked security is provided for articles mounted to a roof rack and for the roof rack itself, by providing a set or kit of two flexible-cable subassemblies, each of which has a closed-door stop block at one end of its cable, and each of which also has a headed slide which is engageable to an elongate slide-track channel formation on the underside of a roof rack. Certain commercially available roof racks already have such a slide-track slide formation, but for those not thus equipped, an additional channel element can be provided for permanent incorporation in an existing rack. A first one of the subassemblies has a relatively short length of cable, and the headed slide is adjustably clamped to the cable via a knurled nut which is manually set before assembly to the slide track of the rack; once in the slide track, further manual adjustment or tampering is foreclosed.

  • Patent number: 4756455
Abstract: A utility saddlebag which has a top (20), sides (26), and ends (30) and (32), of woven fabric attached together by seams of thread configured to cover the engine compartment enclosure of a jet-propelled watercraft. The saddlebag is held in place by the use of an elastic member (36) sewn into a bead on the skirt or periphery of the device allowing it to be stretched over and held in place by tucking the ends under the edges of the housing. A number of pockets (28) on the sides and on the rear (34) provide storage compartments, and a strap (40) assures closure on the sides. • Patent number: 4753378
Abstract: A headgear (10) for supporting a night vision goggle (12) to the head of a wearer. A flexible temporal strip (18) is joined to a flexible crown strip (20) in the forehead region, at which juncture a pair of integral rails (74, 76) suspend the goggle (12) therefrom. The temporal strip (18) and crown strip (20) include free ends which are directed toward the posterior of the cranium (22) and are connected by straps (36, 46, 48) to a webbed pad (38) which engages the occipital protuberance to prevent forward rotation of the headgear (10) due to the weight of the goggle (12). Lower girth straps (68, 69) maintain attachment of the headgear (10) to the cranium (22) and further aid in antirotational movement.

  • Patent number: 4747527
Abstract: A utility belt formed from an elongated strip of plastic material having a predetermined length, width and thickness. The plastic material of the elongated strip has inherent torsion resistance to thereby prevent the belt from being twisted more than 90 degrees. The longitudinal flexibility of the elongated strip is such that it can be drawn around a person's waist to form a closed loop belt. Trim molding is attached to the peripheral edges of the elongated strip and it provides stiffening resistance to torsional twisting forces. The inner surface of the belt has hollow tubing attached to one side of the trim molding and it forms a resilient flange around the periphery of the inner surface of the belt. A layer of open cell foam having an egg carton contour on its outer surface is detachably received against the inner surface of the elongated strip between the resilient flanges formed by the hollow tubing.

  • Patent number: 4746041
Abstract: An all-purpose portable rack includes a pair of mated opposite end parts each being composed of separate base and upright hollow tubular members having portions which form a plurality of slidable and pivotable joints coupling the respective end parts and members of each end part together in mated relationships so as to define an article holding region. The rack also includes an endless elongated elastic member extending about an endless path within the hollow interior of the mated tubular members of the mated rack end parts so as to resiliently retain the parts interconnected together while allowing the members to slide and pivot relative to one another at their mated joints for expanding and contracting the article holding region of the rack and converting the rack to any one of a plurality of upright and inverted operative configurations.

  • Patent number: 4746045
Abstract: A golf scorecard holder is formed of rigid transparent plastic and is of generally rectangular-shaped configuration. One longitudinal edge portion of the golf scorecard holder is shaped to define a curved clamping element and a recess which is shaped in dimension to frictionally engage a pencil for use by a golfer. The other longitudinal edge portion of the holder is shaped to define a retaining lip. A clamping ring may be attached to either end of a holder and is attachable to a golf bag. A transparent envelope is clamped against the clamping surface of the holder by the clamping element to retain the transparent envelope against the clamping surface. The scorecard is positioned between the panels of the envelope for ready examination by a user. The envelope and scorecard may be readily removed from the holder by a user for entry of the golfer's score.

  • Patent number: 4741465
Abstract: This invention relates to a special handgun holster that is capable of concealing a handgun on a person who is wearing only walking shorts and no shirt. Concealing the handgun is accomplished by enveloping the grip end of the handgun inside a pouch that appears to be a large truckers wallet protruding slightly from the pants pocket or walking shorts pocket and camouflaging the muzzle end of the handgun in the lower part of the front pants pocket or walking shorts pocket by adding a block of material to break up the outline of the handgun. In addition a metal bar is placed through the pouch to keep the handgun securely in the pants or walking shorts pocket and to position the pouch around the handgun grip.
