Abstract: A suture package for retaining a barbed suture is provided. The suture package includes a suture retaining member including an outer wall and an inner wall. The inner wall is radially spaced from the outer wall and defines a suture retaining area therebetween. The inner wall defines a needle retaining area and includes at least one opening therein to permit reception of at least one suture therethrough. The outer wall includes a plurality of inwardly extending tabs configured to engage a cover. The suture package further includes a cover configured to be received within the outer wall of the suture retaining member and to selectively engage the inwardly extending tabs formed thereon.

Abstract: A collapsible crate with improved stability and smooth movement includes a top having two opposing top side sections defining top side axes and two opposing top end sections defining top end axes; a bottom having two opposing bottom side edges defining bottom side axes and two opposing bottom end edges defining bottom end axes; first and second opposing end walls, the first and second end walls each being pivotably connected to the top along the corresponding top end sections with interlocking projections; and first and second opposing side walls. The crate includes one or more features which help the crate remain in the erect configuration, for example, a first protrusion protruding from an inner surface of a first side wall, wherein the first protrusion is configured to abut with a portion of a first end wall with an interference fit when the crate is in an erect configuration.

Abstract: A tray (100) for accommodating a coiled medical device, such as a catheter assembly (700), includes a first compartment (101), a second compartment (102), and a third compartment (103). The catheter assembly (700) and devices associated with a catheterization procedure, such as syringes (701,702) containing sterile water and lubricating jelly and a specimen container (703) can be disposed within the tray. A first barrier (105) and second barrier (106) separate the compartments. The barriers can have openings (121,122) therein to accommodate large syringes or to enable the first compartment (101) to be used as a lubricant applicator for the catheter. The first compartment (101) can include a stair-stepped contour (115) such that the syringes are held at different depths to facilitate ease of use. The various devices can be disposed within the tray (100) in accordance with their order of use in the catheterization procedure.

Abstract: A threaded flange for a flexible tank that has a base, an upstanding passage, an upstanding support assembly and a grasping member. The base has an upper surface, and a lower surface opposite the upper surface, and an outer perimeter and an inner opening. The upstanding passage extends upwardly away from the upper surface of the base and has a lower end and an upper end, an inner surface and an outer surface, with the inner surface being threaded. The upstanding support assembly comprises a plurality of ribs extending outwardly from the outer surface of the upstanding passage and upwardly from the upper surface of the base. The grasping member is accessible from the lower surface of the base, wherein the grasping member is accessible by and structurally configured for coupling with a tool.

Abstract: A claim ring for a lid, components thereof, and associated methods. The clamp ring is configured to maintain a lid on a mouth of a container to form a seal therebetween. The clamp ring includes a clamping mechanism including a wheel and a pull. The wheel is turnable to pull the pull to draw end portions of the clamping ring toward each other. A tool receiver can be engaged by a tool and turned by the tool to turn the wheel with the mechanical advantage of the tool.

Abstract: A caddy includes an outer shell, an inner compartment that is surrounded by the outer shell and connected to a top rim of the outer shell, and a handle connected to the inner compartment. The outer shell includes a plurality of exterior walls that define a plurality of corners. At each corner, a stabilizer is connected to two adjacent exterior walls and extends outward for the exterior walls. A support surface includes bottom surfaces of the exterior walls and the stabilizer, so that an area having a periphery defined by the outer ends of the stabilizers is larger than an area having a periphery defined by the corners. The inner compartment includes pockets having an open top and a closed bottom.

Abstract: A container for receiving moisture sensitive goods containing a container body and a cap. The container body has a base and a sidewall extending upwards from the base. An insert element inside the container body has a bottom and an insert sidewall, wherein the insert element is dimensioned to fit into the interior of the container body such that at least a portion of an outer circumferential surface of the insert sidewall is in abutting contact to the inner circumferential surface of the sidewall of the container body. The insert sidewall and the sidewall of the container body are designed to attach the insert element inside the container body.

Abstract: A quasi-cylindrical cargo container is formed of a plurality of rigid, curved panels together forming first and second semi-cylindrical shells, and a plurality of rigid, flat extension panels bridging the first and second semi-cylindrical shells. A method of manufacturing the container includes forming the first and second semi-cylindrical shell from the curved panels, forming the quasi-cylindrical shell from the first and second semi-cylindrical shells and the flat extension panels, forming collars conformably encompassing the quasi-cylindrical shell, constricting the collars to compress joints formed at abutting edges of pairs of adjacent panels, rolling the shell and collars sequentially to bring the joints to a lower position, welding inside seams of the joints when at the lower position, removing the collars, rolling the shell sequentially to bring the joints to an upper position, and welding outside seams of the joints when at the upper position.

Abstract: Systems and devices for tracking the opening and closing of a container are provided. According to an aspect of the invention, a device includes a body that is configured to be inserted between a container and a cap that is configured to seal the container, a sensor that is configured to measure a state of the cap as being opened or closed, a microprocessor that is configured to receive a signal from the sensor that represents the state of the cap, and a transmitter that is configured to send a message that indicates the state of the cap.

Abstract: An attachment mechanism between folding walls of a plastic container facilitates the assembly and disassembly of said walls and at the same time provides a strong attachment capable of resisting the stresses to which the container is subjected. The attachment mechanism includes a pair of male active closure means, a pair of male passive closure means, a pair of female active closure means and a pair of female passive closure means.

Abstract: An instrument protector backer card provides enhanced structural integrity of a sterile package solution for medical instruments. A mounting surface has a strap for holding a removable medical instrument. A shield member is movable from a non-deployed position into a deployed position to define an open-ended pocket to receive an end of the medical instrument therein. A flap may be used to hold jointed medical instrument in an open position.

Abstract: A packaging cushion is provided which has a bottom cushion piece, first and second side cushion pieces, a front cushion piece, a rear cushion piece, and a translated top cushion piece. The bottom cushion piece defines a void cavity and front entry portion. The first side cushion piece may be substantially perpendicular to the bottom cushion piece, and the second side cushion piece may be substantially perpendicular to the bottom cushion piece and opposite the first side cushion piece. The front cushion piece may be substantially perpendicular to the bottom cushion piece and may define an entry space adjacent to the front entry portion. The rear cushion piece may be substantially perpendicular to the bottom cushion piece and opposite the front cushion piece. The translated top cushion piece extends from the rear cushion piece and is displaced from the void cavity. The packaging cushion at least partially covers six sides of a product housed therein.

Abstract: An organizer for a plurality of metallic objects has a nonmetallic housing and a magnetic core. The nonmetallic housing has opposing top and bottom external surfaces. A ridge projects from a periphery of the top external surface. The magnetic core attracts metal towards the geometric center of the top external surface and towards the ridge at the periphery of the top external surface. In some implementations, portions of the magnetic field attract metal in the directions: (i) perpendicular to the geometric center of the top external surface; (ii) outward from the geometric center of the top external surface; and (iii) toward the ridge on the top external surface. Implementations have the magnetic core with a square cross section and north and south poles separated by a distance substantially less than the width of the substantially square cross section, and with its magnetic field in the shape of a torus.

The lid is coupled to and rotatable relative to the frame between a closed position, in which the liner is concealed, and an open position, in which the liner is accessible. The bag cover is coupled to the frame and rotatable relative to the frame and the lid between a closed position, in which a top of the liner is concealed and the bag cover prevents the liner from being removed from the casing, and an open position, in which the top of the liner is accessible and the liner is removable from the cavity of the casing.
