  • Patent number: 9416810
Abstract: Elastomeric joining element retaining devices are disclosed. In an aspect, a retaining device is disclosed which is constructed from an elastomeric material such as polyurethane and designed to receive and align an assembly or “stack-up” of nuts, bolts, washers, and/or other joining elements. The retaining device retains and aligns the assembly, enabling a user to install the assembly accurately without dropping or misaligning portions of the assembly. Such retaining devices ease the process of installing or removing joining elements in hard to reach locations.

  • Patent number: 9404524
Abstract: The present invention provides a screw/bolt thread profile geometry that is particularly suited to forming a mating nut thread when the screw is inserted in to a plain diameter hole, in the anchor and rotated in a manner by which the thread helix angle will cause the relative axial forward movement, of the screw/bolt, into the anchor. This rotation and relative axial movement will be the prime mover in developing the nut thread that has mating contact with the screw/bolt thread.

  • Patent number: 9388842
Abstract: A screw comprising a drive part, a threaded part, and a retaining ring is disclosed herein. Each of the drive part and the threaded part comprises a plurality of interface surfaces that transmit torque from the drive part to the threaded part and prevent the parts from disengaging from one another during use. Each plurality of interface surfaces forms one or more geometric shapes that create additional friction between the drive and threaded parts, and may further include mating pins and holes to prevent the parts from detaching from one another. The retaining ring, which removably connects the screw to a wrench during assembly of the screw with a receptacle, is disposed within a cavity formed when the drive part is assembled with the threaded part.

  • Patent number: 9352382
Abstract: The distribution of load stresses on threads engaged with a standard screw or nut is very unequal. Indeed, the first threads in engagement support a large majority of the load. So if the load is too important, the threads give way and the function is not provided any more by the screw or the nut. In the prior art, threads are known whose depth or pitch varies a lot in order to cause a self-clamping. In particular, the invention aims at optimizing the resistance and the fatigue resistance of the screws by distributing the load at the very best on their threads without causing this self-clamping. It was shown that the control of the pitch variation, within a chosen pitch tolerance, makes it possible to control the stress distribution on the threads. It is possible to determine a different variation for each load case encountered.
