  • Patent number: 6457701
Abstract: A strap tightener includes a limit nub extending outward from each of the wing plates of the seat. An indent is defined in each of the cams of the side plates to correspond to the limit nub and receive the limit nub when releasing the strap to lock the lever and the seat together to reduce the shearing force between the lever and the seat and the pivot pin. Consequently, the pivot holes in the seat and the lever do not wear as much and maintain good concentricity.

  • Patent number: 6431486
Abstract: A tape measure having a braking structure is provided. The tape measure includes a casing having upper and lower portions defining therebetween an inner compartment, as well as at least one stopping block extending into the inner compartment. The tape measure further includes a tape assembly disposed in the inner compartment, a displaceable release key coupled to the casing, a braking element pivotally coupled to the casing, a stopping piece displaceably disposed in the inner compartment, and a resilient member extending between portions of the braking element and release key. The braking element is pivotally displaceable between braking and debraking position, and is formed with distal first and second ends. The first end is coupled to a first part of the release key for displacement responsive thereto.

  • Patent number: 6416005
Abstract: A wire winding box for reducing radial friction, especially a wire winding box for reducing radial friction of a communication wire, is disclosed. A fixing piece is installed in the through hole in the wire winding ring of wire winding disk. The fixing piece serves to clamp and fix the communication wire passing through the through hole so that the communication wire in the wire winding ring can not be pulled. When one end of the communication wire is pulled from the wire winding box, the section of the communication wire in the wire winding ring can not be pulled out. Therefore, as the communication wire is wound back to the wire winding box, the frictions between different sections of the communication wire and between the communication wire and the wire winding ring will not occur. Therefore, the communication wire and the whole wire winding box have a longer lifetime.

  • Patent number: 6402084
Abstract: A plurality of core mounting outer ring members are each rotationally slidably mounted on a corresponding inner ring member having cam surfaces in the outer surface. A rotating drive shaft has radial pistons and rotates the inner ring member by frictional engagement of the pistons displaced by an inflatable bladder. The outer ring member has a first annular array of bores with core gripping balls resiliently urged radially outwardly to grip a core receiving a winding strip thereabout. A second array of bores in the outer member receive larger core gripping balls which freely displace in the bores. Ramp camming grooves are in the outer surface of the inner ring members, the larger gripping balls engaged with the grooves and forced into gripping engagement with the received core when the inner ring member is rotated. The spring loaded balls provide initial friction load between the core and outer ring members so that the ramp balls can operate to grip the core upon rotation of the inner ring member.

  • Patent number: 6390409
Abstract: A roll stand with a frame, a holder arm arranged in the frame, a shaft for the holder, a holder, a motor, and a transmission agent. The transmission agent includes a first and second toothed wheel mounted on an incoming shaft, which is arranged to be driven by the motor, a third toothed wheel and a fifth toothed wheel are arranged on the shaft for the holder, freewheel hubs are arranged at the shaft for the holder between the third and the fifth toothed wheel. The freewheel hubs are capable of locking a toothed wheel in one direction of rotation. Due to the arrangement of the toothed wheels, a first and second drive path is formed so that the transmission agent is capable of achieving two gear changes on an outgoing shaft, depending on the direction of rotation of the motor.
