    Abstract: This invention pertains to the use of certain phosphorus compounds in conjunction with other materials which characterize cleaners of alkaline earth metal salts, metal oxide/hydroxide salts, and silica/silicate salts, particularly citric acid, malic acid, oxalic acid, ammonium bifluoride and sodium bifluoride. Amount of the phosphorus compounds is 0.5 to 70%, preferably 2 to 40%, based on 100% of a cleaner composition which includes the phosphorus compounds. Suitable phosphorus compounds are selected from aminoalkyl and hydroxyalkyl phosphonic acids and phosphonates, phosphonoalkanepolycarboxylic acids and salts thereof, polyphosphoric acids and salts thereof, and polyol phosphate esters.

    Abstract: An aqueous cleaning composition comprising a surfactant; up to about 50% of a higher boiling solvent, typically an alkyl ether of an alkylene glycol, said solvent introducing impurities into the composition in an amount and of a nature normally chemically incompatible with oxidizable dye chromophores; a dye in an amount to provide a desired tinctorial value, and a stabilizer selected from the group consisting of salts suitable to provide iodide and thiosulfate anions in an amount effective to retard fading of the dye, said compositions having a basic pH when the stabilizer is the thiousulfate salt. In another aspect of the invention, the stabilizer incorporated into compositions containing a solvent, a surfactant, and water, and optionally a dye provides a beneficial cleaning result. In yet another aspect of the invention, the stabilizer beneficially retards the development of malodors when the compositions of the present invention are contained in a PVC container.

The polymer compound is present in an amount of from about 0.01% to about 10% by weight, based on the weight of the preparation, and the surfactant is present in a weight ratio of polymer to surfactant of from about 20:1 to about 1:1.

    Abstract: In general, inorganic or organic peroxyacids are unstable in the presence of a nonionic surfactant, so that it was not feasible to contemplate storing liquid compositions containing both components. It has now been discovered that storable compositions containing both components can be obtained by the use of particulate potassium-4-sulphoperoxybenzoic acid dispersed in the liquid nonionic surfactant containing phase. Additionally, the compositions can also include a dispersed particulate water-insoluble builder such as zeolite or water-soluble builder such as STPP. It is preferable to include a small amount of a chelating peroxidic stabilizer such as dipicolinic acid or 1,1,1-hydroxyethylidene diphosphonic acid.
