Abstract: A slide displaced along a life-line. The slide includes a body provided with a guide duct through which a cable passes. The slide further includes a handle that is capable of interacting with an attached connecting mechanism. The handle is articulated relative to the body such that the handle has a freedom of rotary movement of axis in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the guide duct and different from a direction of traction of the connecting mechanism of the handle.

Abstract: A retaining apparatus that is attached to a toe portion of a shoelace section of a laced shoe for securing loops and loose ends of a shoelace. The apparatus is fabricated of a substrate having an engagement surface and an external surface. The substrate is apportioned via a lateral midline into a fixed securing section and a free securing section. The fixed section includes a fastening configuration for securing the apparatus to the shoe. The fastening configuration can be an elongated tubular structure, a pair of loops, an attachment strap, or other fastening configuration. A first coupling interface portion is disposed upon the engagement surface of the fixed securing section and a mating coupling interface portion is disposed upon the engagement surface of the free securing section. The coupling interface engages the free section with the fixed section entrapping the loop and free ends of the shoelace.

Abstract: A strap attachment device includes a main body with a lower body end that has an opening suited for a strap. Based on its position, a cam lever at the opening of the lower body end holds or releases the strap, permitting adjustment of the length of the strap that enters the opening. Extending upward from the lower body end is an upper body end that is curved into a hook or any other shape appropriate for connection to an object. A flexible or translatable gate may extend from the main body so as to prevent the upper body end from inadvertently becoming detached from the object. Slip-resistance on the upper body end resists slippage between the upper body end and the object during side-to-side movements. Ends of the strap may include a loop or handle or connect to other devices.

Abstract: A hat connecting sunglass retention clip is provided having a curved inner surface, a spring urged clamp for frictionally impinging to the hat inner sidewall, and a pair of retaining spikes that both impinge against the hat outer sidewall as well as form upper and lower retention walls for securing the eyeglass arms thereto.

Abstract: A roller zipper slide includes a slide body having a longitudinal slot on a top slide body block in communication with an internal chamber thereof and two coupling grooves located at two opposite lateral sides of the longitudinal slot. The roller zipper slide further includes a roller pivotally having two pivot pins respectively pivotally coupled to the coupling grooves and a bottom side thereof projecting into the internal chamber of the slide body right above the engaging position between the left and right series of teen of the zip fastener, thereby improving sliding mobility, reducing zipper teeth wear and prolonging zipper slide lifespan.

Abstract: A strap-tensioning apparatus includes a frame, a handle, a reel, two ratcheted wheels, two detents and a strap-damping unit. The handle is connected to the frame. The reel is supported on the frame. The ratcheted wheels are secured to the reel. The strap is inserted through a slit of the reel. The first detent is supported on the handle for engagement with the ratcheted wheels to rotate the reel when the handle is pivoted in a direction. The second detent is supported on the frame for engagement with the ratcheted wheels to stop the reel when the handle is pivoted in an opposite direction. The strap-damping unit includes a crossbar, a pressing element and a spring. The crossbar is supported on the frame. The pressing element is biased toward the crossbar by a spring. The strap is inserted through a gap between the pressing element and the crossbar.

Abstract: An actuated wedge socket assembly. The assembly includes a wedge socket having an elongated hollow basket with a large opening at a first end, a small opening at an opposed second end, and an open interior cross-section tapering from the large opening to the small opening. A wedge includes a large end, an opposed small end, and a peripheral groove to receive a wire rope therein. A mechanism is provided to mechanically move and seat the wedge and the wire rope in the wedge socket to a controlled depth.

Abstract: A fastening or mounting apparatus for releasably joining two objects is disclosed. The apparatus has a first component and a second component. The first component may include a plate, two side walls and two flanges extending from the side walls. The second component may include a plate, a first lip and a second lip. The first lip has a cavity holding a resilient element. The second lip may have a convex portion and at least partially define a detent. One of the flanges engages with the resilient element in the cavity while the two components are non-parallel. The first flange compresses the resilient element while the second flange contacts the convex portion. The resilient element biases the second flange against the detent once the two components are parallel.

Abstract: An attachment shackle has an open ring having threaded first and second end-parts arranged facing one another at the opposite ends. A rotary ferrule of tubular shape is fitted with screwing on the second end-part to close or open the space separating the two end-parts. A lock is arranged at the rear of the first end-part. The lock engages in a notch of the ferrule to perform locking in the closed position. Unlocking is performed by a manual releasing action of the lock allowing movement of the rotary ferrule to the open position.

Abstract: A buckle includes a base engaged with a body of swimming/diving goggle. A head strap is extended through a slot in a rear end of the base. A cover is engaged with the body. A space is defined between the cover and the base. A button is mounted in a groove of the cover and made of flexible material. An engagement plate is formed on the button and includes a catch releasably engaging with teeth of the head strap. First and second supporting points are defined between the button and the base. A pressing section is formed between the first and second supporting points. The catch can be disengaged from the teeth of the head strap to allow movement of the head strap in a loosening direction by pressing the pressing section or manually moving the grip.

Abstract: A fastening device includes a first female component and a second male component, each component adapted for attachment to a back panel, wing or strap of a garment or the like, the first component includes a plastic first plate having an inner side and an outer side. The second component includes a second plastic plate having an inner side and an outer side adapted to at least partially overlie the outer side of the first plate in use. The first plate is formed with a plurality of connecting recesses and the inner side of the second plate is formed with at least one connecting protrusion adapted to be releasably received and retained selectively in any one of the connecting recesses. The second plate is formed with a resilient nose inclined downwardly in the direction from its outer side towards its inner side and is deflected upwardly when the components are coupled together to bear resiliently against the outer side of the first plate.

Abstract: A buckle includes a buckle body with spaced apart wall and a pivot bar extending between the side walls and a handle with a cam member and a pair of support slots. The support slots receive the pivot bar to engage the handle with the body such that the handle can pivot between an open position, in which a strap may be threaded upon the handle, and a closed position, in which tension is applied to the strap threaded upon the handle. The engagement between the support slots and the pivot bar permits the handle to slide relative to the buckle body.

Abstract: In one form, the cable termination has a tubular body with an opening into which an end of the median barrier cable is inserted. A wedge gripper includes three sections for gripping the end of the median barrier cable within the tubular body. The wedge gripper has a tapering outer surface that mates with a tapered inner surface of the tubular body and has a toothed inner diameter. A threaded cap is screwed to an end of the tubular body opposite from the cable opening, such that the threaded cap forces the tapering outer surface of the wedge gripper axially against the tapered inner surface of the tubular body to force the toothed inner diameter of the wedge gripper to contract against three lobes of the median barrier cable to grip the median barrier cable.

Abstract: A buckle includes a first fastener and a second fastener. The second fastener has two hooks. The first fastener includes a socket, a locking piece disposed in the socket, and two first locking portions formed on the socket for mating with the hooks. The locking piece is slidingly connected in the socket to cooperate with the second fastener. When the first fastener is engaged with the second fastener, the locking piece enters the second fastener to restrict the movement of the second fastener, so that the second fastener cannot be released unless the locking piece is removed from the second fastener and the hooks of the second fastener are pressed. Thus, the second fastener can be released only when the locking piece is moved, thereby preventing a problem that the second fastener may be separated from the first fastener when the hooks of the second fastener are incautiously pressed. A user has to move the locking piece with one hand and presses the hooks with another hand.

Abstract: A buckle for a belt is provided including a fixation device to fix the buckle to a first end of the belt, and a guiding member configured to guide a belt part along the first belt end during use, for example to form a loop wherein the guiding member includes an operable clamping device having a releasing position to release the belt, and an engagement position to clamp a belt part to the guiding member, wherein the clamping device is configured such that when the clamping device is in the engagement position, the clamping device can be brought to its releasing position by pressing on a belt part.

Abstract: The flexible glove holder (1) includes a flat structure (13) with three branches (2, 3 and 4) forming an S-shape on which the glove is wound. The holder (1) is then pushed into the opening of the glove box. This rapid action method makes it possible to avoid knotting the gloves when they must be drawn toward the outside for an operation within the box and also allows the implementation of biological protection on the opening of the glove box as well as a protection of the agents against radiation.

Abstract: A shoulder strap assembly and a snap hook structure thereof are presented. A strap of the shoulder strap assembly is combined with a first article through the snap hook structure. The snap hook structure includes a main body and a keeper member. The main body hooks the first article, and the keeper member ensures the main body to keep hooking the first article. The keeper member has a perforation. The user can wind the strap around a second article, and use a lock to pass through the perforation so as to lock the first article with the second article, thereby preventing the first article from being stolen.

Abstract: Active material based fasteners that are reversible are provided. These fasteners can be in the form of, for example, cable ties and twist ties. In an embodiment, a fastener for securing an object comprises: a flexible elongated member capable of at least partially surrounding the object; and an adjustment mechanism in operable communication with the flexible elongated member, the adjustment mechanism comprising an active material capable of undergoing a change in a property upon exposure to an activation source, wherein the elongated member is configured to engage or release the object in response to the change in the property.

Abstract: A molded area fastener product, such as a self-engaging fastener, has a strip-form base of resin with a broad surface from which an array of discrete fastener elements extends. The fastener elements each include a molded stem extending from the broad surface of the base to a curved head that extends toward a front side of the fastener element, forms a crook and ends in a distal tip. In some examples the curved head protrudes beyond the stem on the back side of the fastener element to form an overhang defined by an overhang surface of the head directed toward the base, and the crook is defined in part by an underside head surface that overhangs a lower portion of the stem. In some examples the fastener elements are arranged to provide a high distension overlap when mated with an identical fastener product.
