Patent number: 4221456Abstract: This specification discloses a fuse holder for an automotive terminal block for receiving fuses and electrical connections to various electrical components of the automobile. The fuse holder is positioned within the terminal block and is adapted to receive the blade contact of a fuse thereby establishing an electrical connection to the fuse. Typically, the fuse holder has a spring clip with two prongs spring biased against one another so that the blade contact can be resiliently secured between two prongs. The fuse holder can have a pair of attaching prongs to hold a wire providing an electrical connection to the fuse holder. A stop tab is positioned adjacent the attaching prongs so that a wire slipped between the attaching prongs is limited in movement toward the spring clip of the fuse holder so that it does not interfere with entry of the fuse blade between the two prongs.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 1979Date of Patent: September 9, 1980Assignee: Ford Motor CompanyInventors: Thomas M. Patent number: 4214803Abstract: A cable clamp particularly adapted for use with ribbon-type connectors is readily mounted on a connector end by means of a clamp anchor portion connected to a cable-supporting base having a projecting rib. Integral opposed side walls are adapted to move inwardly relative to the base and clampingly urge a cable, containing wires to be terminated in the connector, against such base over the projecting rib which extends transversely to the cable axis. Each side wall includes laterally extending ear portions for urging engaged cable portions downwardly on either side of the base rib so as to deform the cable over the rib and assure a secure cable-clamp engagement. Such engagement enables the cable and the individual wires to resist movement relative to the clamp upon the exertion of axial forces thereon, thereby functioning as an efficient strain relief preventing disruption of terminations of the wire conductors within the connector.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 1978Date of Patent: July 29, 1980Assignee: TRW Inc.Inventors: William H. Patent number: 4212510Abstract: An improved filtered header or feedthrough connector is disclosed for retrofitting filtered terminals into an existing electronic circuit. Each of a plurality of terminals is provided with filter sleeves which are soldered thereto. The filtered terminal assemblies are inserted into a header housing in a fixed array. At least one conductive rubber gasket on the housing interconnects the filters to a ground plane. A metal bushing can be mounted on the conductive rubber gasket to make an interconnection with mounting means, such as a bulkhead. The elastomeric ground plane engages the filters in such a manner as to apply a biasing force to the filters without creating such a high force that there would be a possibility of destroying the filters. The header housing also allows for accommodating filters of various sizes as well as for having terminal pins pass straight through without any filtering.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1978Date of Patent: July 15, 1980Assignee: AMP IncorporatedInventors: Leon T. Patent number: 4211465Abstract: Structural means are provided in an electron tube base for expeditiously controlling the flow of dielectric adhesive material relative to designated lead positions therein. This is accomplished by barrier means in the form of a centralized rim, extending from the crown portion of the base, which isolates the low voltage leads from the flow of dielectric material. In conjunction therewith, a trough-like channel is formed in the floor of the base flange to expedite flow of the dielectric material from the central cavity of the base to the vicinity of the high voltage leads.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1979Date of Patent: July 8, 1980Assignee: GTE Products CorporationInventors: Peter G.
