  • Patent number: 6916135
Abstract: A cam pin (2) is provided on a male connector (1). A cam groove (25) is formed on a lever (15) of a female connector (5). On a bottom surface (30) of a cam part (27) of the cam groove (25), an escape hole (32) is formed at the side of a cam surface (28) for separation, with the escape hole (32) penetrates through an outer wall of a cam plate part (17). The groove width of the cam part (27) is larger than the outer diameter of the cam pin (2). Even though foreign matter such as sand penetrates into the cam groove (25) in a fitted state of the female connector (5) and the male connector (1), the foreign matter can be discharged from the escape hole (32) to the outside of the connector. If some foreign matter does not pass through the escape hole (32) but is left in the cam part (27), the groove width of the cam part (27) is larger than the outer diameter of the cam pin (2) so that the foreign matter does not interfere with a movement of the cam pin (2).

  • Patent number: 6913411
Abstract: A coupling structure of a watch band in which a coupling member such as a coupling pin or a hair pin does not sup from a coupling hole even if a user practices strenuous sports or a rotation and a twist are always applied to the coupling portion due to use for years, and a method of manufacturing a piece member for the band coupling structure. In a coupling structure of a band comprising a plurality of piece members, a projection protruded in a central direction of a coupling hole from an internal wall of the coupling hole is formed on an outer end of the coupling hole in the piece member positioned on an outside in a transverse direction, and a coupling member is inserted in the coupling hole provided in the transverse direction of the piece member and is engaged with the projection, thereby coupling the piece members to each other.

  • Patent number: 6908249
Abstract: A lock for securing first and second telescoped pole sections includes a base defining a through-bore for receipt of an end of a first pole section. A neck projects from the base and a collar is connected to the neck. The collar defines an opening aligned with the bore of the base. The collar receives a second pole section that is telescoped into the first pole section. A fastener is connected to the collar and a threaded end thereof projects from the collar. A lever control member is mated with the threaded end of the fastener and is movable to selectively radially constrict the collar. The fastener is rotatable relative to the collar but is frictionally engaged with the collar to prevent its unintended rotation. As necessary, the fastener is rotated relative to the collar to adjust the amount that the lever is advanced thereon.

  • Patent number: 6895640
Abstract: To provide a clip attaching structure wherein a base portion of a clip is not exposed from an outside, and attaching can be performed with a good appearance. An outer sleeve has a rear sleeve and a cap connected to a rear side of the rear sleeve, and the clip has a ring-like base portion fixed to the outer sleeve, a connecting portion extending from the base portion, and a clip main body extending approximately in parallel with the rear sleeve from the connecting portion. At the rear end portion of the rear sleeve, a bent portion is formed, and in the bent portion, a notch penetrated by the connecting portion and a second notch facing to the notch by about 180 degrees are formed. The base portion of the clip passes through the portion in the diameter direction of the rear end opening connecting the notch and the second notch, and goes through the bent portion, and is inserted into an inside of the bent portion of the rear sleeve.

  • Patent number: 6872026
Abstract: A handle connector for securing the head of a cleaning tool to its handle is formed as a unitary integral body, preferably of die-cast construction. The connector has two distal ends. At one end, there is an opening for receiving a handle. The other end of the connector extends outwardly and is configured to mate with the head of a broom, mop, or similar manual tool. The body of the connector includes a floating web comprising a substantially flat section and laterally flanking slots. A bolt and wing nut are provided for joining the handle to the connector. As the wing nut is manually tightened against the connector, it applies a compressive force against the flat section of web, which flexes inward in relation to the handle, ultimately contacting the outside surface of the handle. Continued manual tightening ensures for a tight fit between handle and connector and rigidly secures the joint between these tool components.

  • Patent number: 6860671
Abstract: A D-ring assembly comprising a D-ring and a load limiting device. The D-ring has a slot therethrough for receiving a seatbelt webbing and for guiding the webbing from the retractor to the torso of a vehicle occupant. The load limiting device functions by absorbing kinetic energy of the vehicle occupant during a crash to control the deceleration forces experienced by the vehicle occupant. The load limiting device has a deforming member partially embedded in a swivel ball. When a predetermined amount of force is applied on the D-ring assembly, the swivel ball rotates causing the deforming member to create a channel in the load-limiting device.

  • Patent number: 6857808
Abstract: The present invention provides a joining structure capable of greatly improving the proof stress and the fatigue property by alleviating the stress concentration and residual stress caused by welding heat at one or both ends of a tabular member. In the present invention, one or both ends 4 of a tabular member 3 such as a reinforcing rib, fixed to the surface of a structural member 1 in the direction of the principal stress of the structural member 1 so as to protrude in the shape of T, is/are bent in a direction deviating from the direction of the principal stress and, by this, the rigidity at the end(s) 4 of the tabular member 3 decreases and the stress concentration is alleviated. It is preferable to bend one or both ends of a tabular member 3 in the shape of an gradual curve and to the extent that each bent end is formed at a right angle to the direction of the principal stress. The tabular member may have the shape of a flat plate, or it may be bent so that it has the shape of U or V as a whole.

  • Patent number: 6848676
Abstract: A fence construction system and a method for building such a fence are provided. The fence looks like a wall and has wall characteristics, such as a post-tension condition, but is much less expensive and easier to build. A ratcheting system or tensioning system is used to tension the tensile wires which are then secured to the fence posts. A wire lath is applied to the tensile wires and coating material is then applied to the surface of the wire lath. After forming the fence construction, the tensile wires are released and the ratcheting posts are removed. The fence construction system can be used to build a fence portion of up to 300 feet long at one time.
