  • Patent number: 5316170
Abstract: A self-ejecting garbage receptacle includes a container body for holding a garbage bag containing refuse, the container body having a bottom and a side wall enclosure with an open upper end, the side wall enclosure being connected with the bottom; a belt draped in the container body for normally supporting the bag in a lowered position in the container body, the belt having first and second opposite ends, with the first end being fixed to the side wall enclosure adjacent the open upper end; and a jug handle-shaped ejector handle for raising the belt, the ejector handle being connected with the second opposite end of the belt and being pivotally connected at one end thereof to an external surface of the container body; a hinge for pivotally connecting the ejector handle to the container body; a hook on an external surface of the container body; and a latch on the ejector handle for engaging with the hook to hold the belt in a raised position.

  • Patent number: 5085343
Abstract: A nested tank construction for pressurized materials comprises first and second cylindrical tanks connected together so that they are axially aligned. The first tank comprises a dome end which is inverted so that it extends inwardly into the first tank and is under compression loading when exposed to pressure within the first tank. The second tank comprises a dome end which extends outwardly from the second tank and is under tension loading when exposed to pressure within the second tank. The first and second tank dome ends have a matching geometry so that the second tank dome end is nested into the first tank dome end. The first tank dome end is a honeycomb sandwich structure comprising an aluminum membrane, a honeycomb core adhered to the concave face of the aluminum membrane, and a fiber composite face sheet adhered to the concave face of the honeycomb core. The honeycomb sandwich structure is co-cured under heat and pressure.

  • Patent number: 5025943
Abstract: A pressure vessel of fibre-reinforced plastic has an essentially cylindrical central portion (10) and two end portions (11, 12) and is preferably provided with a gas-tight liner (14). The central portion comprises a tangential winding (20) of the fibre material, in which the fibre material is oriented in an essentially tangential direction and an axial winding (21), located outside the tangential winding, of fibre material in which the fibre material is oriented in an essentially axial direction and the fibre material of which extends out into and forms a reinforcement of the fibre material in the end portions. The central portion, including its tangential winding and its axial winding, in each of its parts (10a, 20a, 21a) located nearest to an end portion, is formed with a diameter which decreases in a direction towards the end portion.
