Abstract: A method of offering a promotional product to a user at a digital imaging device having a display. The method comprises the steps of: receiving an order from the user at the digital imaging device for an imaging service or product; and simultaneously processing the order for the imaging service or product at the display and displaying, on the display, a motion image comprising the promotional product, wherein the promotional product is different than the imaging service or product. In a preferred embodiment, the promotional product displayed on the display comprises a user-supplied image.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method that presents a preview of a set of images in a graphical user interface (GUI) of a device. To generate the preview, the method initially selects a subset of images that includes several images in the set but not all the images in the set. After selecting the subset of images, the method concurrently displays the images in the selected subset as the preview of the set of images.

The display control apparatus has a play list feature extraction block configured to extract a feature of a play list on the basis of a plurality of content belonging to the play list, a display pattern selection block configured to select a display pattern for displaying the play list on the basis of the feature of the play list, the feature being extracted by the feature extraction block, and a control block configured to execute control such that the play list is displayed on a display block on the basis of the display pattern selected by the display pattern selection block. The novel configuration provides new ways of enjoying content.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product are disclosed for selecting links in a page using an enhanced mouse pointer. The page is displayed in a data processing system that includes a mouse that includes a scroll wheel. Multiple links are included in the page. A standard mouse pointer is displayed in the page. An enhanced mouse pointer state is then invoked causing the standard mouse pointer to become an enhanced mouse pointer. In response to invoking the enhanced mouse pointer state, a closest one of the links in the page to the enhanced standard mouse pointer is determined. An enhanced mouse pointer indicator is displayed that extends from the enhanced mouse pointer to the determined closest one of the links. The links may be scrolled through by rotating the scroll wheel.

The user interfacing method of a portable terminal with a pointing device includes checking whether or not pointing through the pointing device has occurred, and removing a current image while distorting the current image around a pointing position if pointing has occurred. The user interfacing apparatus of a portable terminal comprises a pointing device for enabling pointing by a user, a display unit for displaying an image for graphic user interfacing, and a control unit for controlling the display unit in such a manner that a current image is removed by distorting the current image around a pointing position and a resultant image according to the pointing is displayed if the pointing has occurred through the pointing device.

The data exploration system generates visual representations of complex data sets in map, table, and tree view formats. In each of these view formats, both the appearance and the arrangement of the symbols representing the data sets are based on the data itself to facilitate the comprehension of patterns and information relationships within the data sets. Further, the data can be viewed at different levels of density to perform detailed analysis of the data, and to detect the presence of overall trends within the data. Moreover, the data exploration system performs a suite of calculation operations to cast the data in different forms, and to facilitate the acquisition, integration, and analysis of the data.

Abstract: The present invention provides a document processing method and system which implement display that improves efficiency and usability of edit operations when inserting, moving, or copying & pasting data, by taking full advantage of the feature of retaining data and set values hierarchically in the system. In document processing for editing a document consisting of multiple sets of original data, when a user moves a graphic object which represents a desired original by dragging it on the document in order to move or copy the desired original data to a certain position on the document, the present invention detects the boundary between originals in the document, nearest to the position of the cursor dragging the graphic object which represents the desired original, and displays an identifiable mark on the boundary between originals in the document.

Abstract: A selection apparatus providing user friendly interface for visually impaired people. The selection apparatus may contain a touch screen and a guide structure. The guide structure is disposed along the touch buttons in the touch screen, and contains touch points corresponding to the touch buttons. The touch points are designed such that a different sensation is felt when a user slides an object (e.g., finger) along the selection structure. An exit may be designed to help lead the object from each touch point to corresponding touch button. Thus, a visually impaired person may slide a finger along the guide structure, feel a touch points and use the associated exit to locate a corresponding touch button.

Abstract: Systems and techniques to model business objects as graphic objects using multiple graphic object features to represent different aspects of the business objects. In general, in one implementation, the technique includes: receiving information describing a plurality of business objects, and modeling the business objects as graphic objects. The graphic objects can include an object size representing a first aspect of a corresponding business object, an object interior representing a second aspect of a corresponding business object, and an object boundary representing a third aspect of a corresponding business object. The graphic objects can be positioned and displayed in a two-dimensional chart using two-dimensional coordinates determined based at least in part on one or more additional aspect of the corresponding business objects.
