  • Patent number: 6175168
Abstract: An encapsulated stator for use in solenoid-actuated liquid metering device has a bobbin assembly and a plunger guide which are substantially surrounded by a plastic overmold to hold the assembly together and provide a protective housing. Upper and lower ends of the plunger guide are not covered by the overmold, but rather are left exposed so that additional manufacturing and assembly steps may be performed upon the stator. The plunger guide is formed integrally with a support plate and two threaded body for receiving bolts to secure the stator in its operating position. A plastic cap with an integrally molded electrical connector housing for mating engagement with an electrical power supply is secured to the bobbin assembly and retains the core and plunger guide in proper positions relative to the bobbin prior to the assembly being encased in the overmold. A method of manufacturing the encapsulated stator is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6078118
Abstract: The present invention discloses a combination of an electric motor and a pump with a compact design. It is important that the pump housing 9 is made of plastic material and slid into the housing periphery 2 of the electric motor so that it embraces the pump housing from the outside and thereby imparts stability to it.The pump bores 15, 16 extend radially outwardly and are closed by plugs 22, 23 which bear against the inside of the electric motor housing 2.Because the pump housing is made of plastic material, it can additionally be used as a brush support plate for the brushes 24, 25 of the electric motor.

  • Patent number: 6051905
Abstract: An electrical homopolar capacitor generator includes a set of stacked dielectric plates and conductive plates arranged in a magnetic field, with at least one of the dielectric plates is rotated relative to the remainder of the plates to generate an electrical output charge between the conductive plates. One version of the generator employs flat circular disks with an inner dielectric disk rotated relative to the others. The inner disk is placed between a pair of electrically conductive plates, which in turn are placed between a pair of first and second dielectric plates which are in a fixed relationship to the conductive plates. A second embodiment utilizes concentric cylinders in a similar arrangement to the stacked circular disk embodiment, with relative rotation of an inner dielectric being effected along a common axis for all of the cylindrical plates.

  • Patent number: 6020670
Abstract: A connector support block has a recess defined in part by an arcuate surface for limiting deflection of a main lead connector coupled between the main lead terminal and the innermost turn of end coils on a generator. The recess is spanned by a pin displaceable in elliptical openings in flanges defining the recess and about which pin the main lead connector makes a 180.degree. bend. By limiting the deflection of the main lead connector, stresses introduced into the main lead connector at the 180.degree. bend, a 90.degree. bend and the joint between the main lead connector and innermost turn are reduced under cyclic loading whereby increased fatigue life of the main lead connector is provided.

  • Patent number: 6018208
Abstract: An articulating motor stator assembly for use in a pump incorporates features that permit recycling of the motor stator when disposing of other parts of the pump. Such a stator assembly facilitates convenient manufacture, testing, and installation of the pump. For convenient installation, the motor stator assembly can incorporate a multi-part, annular housing that defines a central conduit to receive a motor rotor assembly. The multi-part housing of the motor stator assembly may be selectively repositioned between an open and closed configuration. In its open configuration a motor rotor assembly may be conveniently installed in the motor stator and when closed the motor stator will actuate the motor rotor assembly in order to operate a pump. The assembly thereby enables separate manufacture and shipment from a remote location. In addition, the assembly can be separately tested prior to installation. After pump use, the motor stator can be opened so as to remove the motor rotor assembly.

  • Patent number: 6005320
Abstract: A two-phase brushless direct-current (BLDC) motor having a single Hall effect device. The BLDC motor includes a stator comprised of 2n coils grouping as first and second phase coils at a uniform interval, and a rotor which N-pole and S-pole magnets of the same number as that of the stator coils are alternately disposed, the 2n magnets forming n pairs, each pair of magnets are disposed at a uniform interval, wherein a distant ratio from the center of one N-pole magnet to the centers of the S-pole magnets adjacent the N-pole magnet is established into 1:1.4. Since 2n auxiliary magnets are disposed annularly on the rotor with the same length as each other corresponding to the N-pole and S-pole magnets, a single Hall effect device detects the magnetic pole by magnetic flux of the rotating auxiliary magnets and generates the rotating position signal of the rotor, so that a switching controller can activate the first and second phase coils alternately.
