  • Patent number: 7972329
Abstract: The functionality and the output power delivered are evaluated in an electrosurgical generator by calculating first and second values related to the output power delivered by using separate first and second computations. The two calculated values are compared, and an error condition is indicated when the two values differ by a predetermined amount. The separate computations, coupled with the other separate activities of measuring, averaging and sampling the output current and voltage measurements, serve as an effective basis for detecting errors caused by malfunctions or equipment failure. The error condition may be used to as a basis to terminate the output power delivery or indicate the error.

  • Patent number: 7459109
Abstract: A method for manufacturing foam pads includes a first step of preparing a proper amount of PVC power, DOP curing agent, light calcium carbonate, kaolin, foaming agent and pigment and pouring them into a blending device to be blended and form a liquid starchy material. Next, the liquid starchy material is conveyed into an intermediate material barrel and kept stationary for pre-foaming at normal temperature for about 8 hours and then coated on a conveyer pelt to form a starchy material layer. Subsequently, the starchy material layer is kept stationary and heated at 80-90° C. for about 3-10 minutes and then continuously heated at 185-200° C. for about 20-30 minutes to form an integral-sheeted foam pad. After cooled, the integral-sheeted foam pad is thermo-compressed and cut into various foam pad products.

  • Patent number: 7367487
Abstract: A recess portion with a substantially circular cross-section is provided in the upper end surface of a supporting jig. When a probe of a device for friction stir welding is buried in the upper end surface of a layered portion, material in the vicinity of the buried portion flows plastically. This causes the plastically flowed material to flow into the recess portion, and as a result, the material is stirred in a relatively large region. When the material that flowed into the recess portion is cooled and solidified, a friction stir-welded portion-possessing member having a projection portion is obtained.

  • Patent number: 7279058
Abstract: A composite carpet cushion incorporating a film layer, a foam layer and a fiber layer and a process of forming the composite carpet cushion. The film layer of the composite carpet cushion is a polyethylene film having a lateral dimension in the range of about 0.4 to 3 millimeters. The foam layer is urethane in an amount ranging from about 20 to 90 grams per square foot of the composite carpet cushion. The fiber layer is comprised of natural or synthetic fibers or a combination thereof having a lateral dimension in the range of about 1/16 to 7/16 inches. The process of forming a composite carpet cushion comprises applying an uncured urethane foam mixture uniformly on a polyethylene film layer. The combination foam and film layer is applied to a fiber layer which is proximate the foam layer. The composite layers are moved through a heated press which compresses the layers and causes the foam layer to react and cure to form a bond with the fiber layer and the film layer.
