  • Patent number: 5738503
Abstract: A method of balancing an electronically driven air blower unit comprising a radial blower with a high-speed electronically commutated d.c. motor which drives the blower and which is of external rotor design, utilizing a balancing device into which the completely mounted air blower unit (1) can be inserted, without housing lid, and with which electrical contact (101, 102, 103; 201, 202, 203) can be made. The balancing device is provided with a control device for the motor (3, 4, 5) of the air blower unit and with a device (9) for bridging the motor electronics (10) of the air blower unit (1) itself. In order to drive the part to balanced of the air blower unit, its electromechanical transducer (3, 4, 5) is used, which for this purpose is actuated by the control device provided in the balancing device. The balancing process is essentially carried out in two compensation planes which are spaced axially from one another and are parallel with one another.

  • Patent number: 5730249
Abstract: A slant plate type compressor includes a compressor housing having a cylinder block provided with a plurality of cylinders and a basin portion formed at a bottom thereof for storing lubricating oil. A slant plate is disposed on the drive shaft and undergoes rotational motion with the drive shaft and is drivingly coupled to the pistons. The rotary motion of the drive shaft is converted into reciprocating motion of the pistons. An annular balance weight is coupled to a wobble plate, which is disposed about the slam plate and includes an axial end surface which has a sloped cross section. A pump mechanism disposed in the housing provides lubricating oil from the oil basin to the drive shaft. The pump mechanism contacts and is powered by the annular balance weight.

  • Patent number: 5720600
Abstract: A sucker rod pump comprises a cylindrical housing (1) having a suction valve (3), a hollow plunger (2) with a discharge valve (18) capable of reciprocating along the cylindrical housing (1) and at least two stationary sealing devices (7) spaced from each other for a distance equal to or higher than the length of the hollow plunger (2) which interacts with each sealing device (7) interacting, in turn, with the hollow plunger (2) whose length (L) is equal to or higher than the sum of the distance (H) between the adjacent sealing devices (7) and the length (B) of one sealing device (7) but less than the sum of the double distance (H) between the adjacent sealing devices (7) and the length (B) of one sealing device (7).

  • Patent number: 5704772
Abstract: A conventional vibrator for actuating small diameter pump is tapped at the small volume pressure chamber and communicated to a plugged, elongate hose, thus expanding the actuating pressure chamber of the vibrator conveniently to virtually any required volume within the small casing environment. With the expanded pressure chamber, cycle period of the vibrator can be extended to virtually any desired time cycle without performance limiting closure of the needle valve regulator. An elongate bladder forms the periodic pressure actuated positive displacement volume for the pump. By increased length of the bladder, correspondingly increased cycle pumping volume is provided for the pump. At the same time, bladder expansion provides sufficient pump inlet pressure to enable the use of free floating check valves. A high volume, slow cycle pump for the narrow casing environment results.

  • Patent number: 5702237
Abstract: A fuel filter for the inlet of a fuel pump having upper and lower wall portions each constructed of a material with a plurality of openings. The lower wall portion has a greater total thickness and/or a smaller average opening size than the upper wall portion to provide more effective filtration of the fuel drawn into the fuel pump through the lower wall of the filter. The filter also causes a greater resistance to fuel flow through the lower wall thereby increasing the rate of fuel drawn through the upper wall of the filter.
