  • Patent number: 6158560
Abstract: A lockup clutch in a hydrodynamic torque converter has an axially movable piston which can be pressed against a contact face of a flange of the converter housing in a switching position via at least one friction facing. At least one of the structural component parts of the flange of the converter housing or the piston serves as a carrier for a deformation element axially arranged between it and the other structural component part. The deformation element is connected with the carrier on at least one radial side and is in a working connection with the carrier at least at the other radial side via an elastic supporting device. The deformation element extends at least within the area of extension of the friction facing.

  • Patent number: 5915514
Abstract: A clutch comprises an inner rotatable member 1, an outer rotatable member 2 serving as an output shaft, a plurality of rollers 3 serving as torque transmission members disposed between the Inner and outer rotatable members, and a retainer 4 serving as an Input shaft. The retainer 4 Is connected to a motor 7, which serves as an input source, through a wore and wormwheel mechanism 6. A viscous fluid, e.g., a highly viscous fluid 10 such as silicone oil, is sealed In a clearance between the Inner rotatable member 1 and a shaft member 8, and a centring spring 12 is interposed between the inner rotatable member 1 and the retainer 4.

  • Patent number: 5842550
Abstract: A release device (3) is arranged around a main input shaft of a transmission, is provided for pulling an inner peripheral portion of a diaphragm spring (9) toward a transmission so as to disengage a clutch (2), and includes a second sleeve (12), a first lever plate (16) and a second lever plate (17). The second sleeve (12) is axially movably. The first lever plate (16) is an annular member, which is fixed to an outer periphery of the second sleeve (12) and has a spherical convex surface (16a) opposed to a transmission. The second lever plate (17) is an annular member, which has a spherical concave surface (17a) in slidable contact with the spherical convex surface (16a) and is in contact with an inner peripheral end of the diaphragm spring (9).

  • Patent number: 5657670
Abstract: A bicycle head tube sealing structure including a plug cap at the top end of the head tube, a packing block disposed inside the top tube of the front fork, a screw inserted through the plug cap and threaded into the packing block, a stop plate mounted inside the top tube of the front fork, a spring mounted around the screw and stopped between the plug cap and the stop plate, and an expansion ring mounted around the screw between the stop plate and the packing block when, the screw is turned in one direction, the packing block is forced upwards to squeeze the expansion ring against the top plate, causing the top tube and of the front fork firmly secured to the head tube; when the screw is turned in the reversed direction, the packing block is forced downwards to release the expansion ring, for permitting the top tube of the front fork to be disconnected from the head tube.

  • Patent number: 5542512
Abstract: In a selector device for an automatic transmission system, a rotatable member is supported by a first pivot shaft, and a selector lever is tiltably supported by the rotatable member by a second pivot shaft extending substantially perpendicularly to the first pivot shaft. A base end of the selector lever is bifurcated into a pair of engagement claws, and a checker cam is positioned in a gap defined between the engagement claws. A slide member can be slid into between the checker cam and the associated engagement claw to prevent the tilting movement of the selector lever. Thus, the slide member which is typically associated with a shift lock mechanism can prevent the tilting movement of the selector lever and, hence, the shifting of the selector lever from the P range position. Because the force applied to the selector lever is supported by the slide member as a compressive load, no substantial stress is applied to the actuator or the linkage provided between the actuator and the slide member.
