  • Patent number: 11696867
Abstract: Under the control of a controller, a drive mechanism portion moves a massaging member and an ascent-descent mechanism moves up and down the massaging member together with the entire drive mechanism portion. During an ordinary kneading massage, the massaging member performs a relative motion to describe a reference locus in the shape of a closed curve. The controller controls to make the massaging member perform a relative reciprocating movement within a partial movement range corresponding to a partial segment of the reference locus and simultaneously controls to make the ascent-descent mechanism move the drive mechanism portion up and down. The relative reciprocating movement of the massaging member along the partial segment of the reference locus and the up-down movement of the entire drive mechanism portion are combined together to produce a new motion of the massaging member describing a locus different from the reference locus.

  • Patent number: 11426552
Abstract: A mask apparatus for a respiratory treatment can permit delivery of breathable gas to a user. In one example, the mask may employ a frame and cushion to form a seal for both mouth and nose. The frame may be adapted for coupling with a respiratory treatment apparatus so as to permit communication of a pressurized gas from the respiratory treatment apparatus. The cushion, which may be foam, and a frame component may be made in an overmoulding process that moulds the frame onto a pre-formed foam cushion. Such a moulding process may form a mechanical and/or chemical bonding of the foam and mask frame component. The mask frame component may be a shell of plenum chamber, such as for both nose and mouth. Various features of the cushion may further promote sealing and comfort for the under the nose design.

  • Patent number: 11406558
Abstract: A brain injury reduction system provides a protective measure that temporarily or decreases venous drainage out of the intracranial compartment during or immediately before and during a sudden change in acceleration of an individual's head. Specifically, a wearable helmet or other wearable structure of the brain injury reduction system detects an impending collision and determines whether a protective measure is needed. If so, one or more actuation devices provides the protective measure to reduce venous drainage through one or both of the internal jugular veins or paravertebral venous plexus. A first actuation device stimulates a gag reflex or valsalva-like maneuver to reduce venous drainage through the paravertebral venous plexus. A second actuation device can physically compress the internal jugular veins. Thus, the brain injury reduction system minimizes the detrimental impact that may occur due to the sudden change in acceleration of the individual's head.
