  • Patent number: 6959892
Abstract: This invention provides a reel 1 for a fine metal wire comprising a drum 2, two flange bodies 3, and two flange reinforcing members 4 each of them made of thin steel metal. Each flange reinforcing members 4 is bent into L-shape in cross-section such that a flange side portion 4a is placed at a tilt angle ? of 4 +3/?3 degrees with respect to a vertical line. The flange side portion 4a of the flange reinforcing member 4 is brought into intimate contact with a flange 3b of the flange body to be fixed thereto by spot welding. As a result, a tensile stress is previously produced at the bent portion P, thereby substantially improving the strength and the repetitive usability.

  • Patent number: 6908055
Abstract: A system disposed in a tape drive, for extracting a magnetic recording tape wound on a single reel in a cartridge received in the tape drive, has a lever arm which moves a gripper hook and a gripper hook follower, in hinged engagement with each other, into and out of the tape cartridge to engage the gripper hook with a leader pin at a free end of the tape. A mechanical gripper switch is rotated after the gripper hook has been moved into the tape cartridge to cause the gripper hook to engage the leader pin. The lever arm then moves the gripper hook follower, the gripper hook and the magnetic tape engaged therewith through a tape guide and through a channel in a take-up reel located in the tape drive, so that the leader pin is positioned at a periphery of the hub of the take-up reel.

  • Patent number: 6814325
Abstract: There is a film-press spring for pressing a photographic film on a take-up spool in a take-up chamber. The film-press spring has a main body for guiding a leading end of the photographic film at the beginning of the film winding and a plate bended in U-shape against the main body. A pressing arm which is protruded from the main body presses the photographic film to a periphery of the take-up spool. And a fitting arm which is elastic enough to be transformed is protruded from the plate. When inserted into the spring attachment hollow of the take-up chamber, the fitting arm presses the wall surface of the spring attachment hollow. And a slipping prevention claw of the plate is engaged with the wall surface of the spring attachment hollow.

  • Patent number: 6799738
Abstract: A take-up reel for winding and storing an elongate hose or electrical cable comprises a reel that is rewound by a torsional spring. A viscous clutch is coupled to the reel by means of a unidirectional clutch, which engages the viscous clutch to the reel to rewind the reward speed, but disengages the viscous clutch from the reel when the hose or cable is being payed-out. This permits the hose or cable to be payed-out without resistance from the viscous clutch. The uni-directional viscous clutch assembly thus allows the hose to be payed-out at any speed while providing the substantial safety benefits of a viscous speed governor during rewind.

  • Patent number: 6796520
Abstract: A magnetic tape cartridge is equipped with a cartridge, a single tape reel, a tape leader pin, and a U-shaped clip. The cartridge case is formed by fastening upper and lower cases of synthetic resin together and has a tape leader opening formed in the upper and lower side walls of the upper and lower cases. The single tape reel has magnetic tape wound thereon and is rotatably housed within the cartridge case. The tape leader pin is firmly attached to a leading end of the magnetic tape, and is detachably held in an upright state between the upper and lower cases so that it faces the tape leader opening. The U-shaped clip is attached to walls near the tape leader opening to fasten the upper and lower cases together, whereby the fastening strength of the upper and lower cases is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 6712357
Abstract: An apparatus for providing pinch force control to an entrance transport element in a document handling system. The entrance transport element includes a drive roller element and a pinch roller element and a pinch force relief mechanism coupled to the pinch roller element. The pinch force relief mechanism is positionable between a pinch force mode and a non-pinch force mode. • Patent number: 6705557
Abstract: An idler device of the magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus is disclosed having the construction that an idler arm is inserted to the side of a clutch shaft which is installed at a lower surface of a main chassis. Without an extra construction for the assembly, a snap engagement is possibly made, so that a workability of an assembly working is improved and the number of parts can be reduced, and thus, a production cost can be reduced. In addition, the assembly of an idler gear is completed as a plate spring is fixed to an idler shaft in a state that the idler gear is inserted in the idler shaft of an idler arm. Thus, the assembly working is relatively facilitated, and a production cost can be reduced with the simple construction. Moreover, since the plate spring is installed in a state of being fixed at the protrusion bar by the stopper, the relative position of the plate spring is precisely set with respect to the neighboring parts, so that an operation reliability can be remarkably improved.
