  • Patent number: 11285306
Abstract: A transdermal drug delivery device includes a reservoir, a transdermal membrane, a piston, a control rod, a spring, and a rotational cam. The reservoir is configured to hold a formulation. The transdermal membrane is configured to allow the formulation from the reservoir to pass therethrough. The piston is configured to move into the reservoir. The control rod is attached to the piston and includes a plurality of teeth thereon. The spring is configured to apply force to the control rod in the direction of the reservoir. The rotational cam has a first camming surface and a second camming surface that are configured to engage with the plurality of teeth. The rotational cam, when rotated, is configured to disengage the first camming surface from a first tooth of the plurality of teeth, thereby allowing the spring to advance the piston into the reservoir to expel the formulation onto the transdermal membrane.

  • Patent number: 11266770
Abstract: A wound therapy system includes a wound dressing fluidly connected to a fluid canister. The fluid canister is attached to a canister receiving attachment of a housing structure. A pump is fluidly coupled to the canister and is configured to draw a negative pressure within an interior of the canister. A controller of the wound therapy system is configured to operate the pump to apply a vacuum to the interior of the canister and to obtain one or more measurements representative of at least one or a flow rate of air that is exhausted from the canister interior, a pressure within the canister interior and pump ripple. The controller is configured to estimate the volume of the canister based on the comparison of the measured parameters against model data stored by the controller that is representative of the operation of the therapy system with canisters of varying volumes.

  • Patent number: 11253638
Abstract: A device and method are used for monitoring an extracorporeal blood treatment device, such as a dialysis machine, which includes an extracorporeal blood circuit having an arterial blood line with an arterial patient port and/or at least one venous blood line with a venous patient port, and a dialysis fluid system which has a dialysis fluid supply line and a dialysis fluid drain line. The monitoring device selects and senses a measured value during operation of the extracorporeal blood treatment device which is suitable for monitoring the blood treatment device to compare a time-related actual course of the measured value with a target course of the measured value stored in a memory, and to determine that there is a defect if, at least in sections, the actual course of the measured value deviates from the target course by more than a defined tolerance.

  • Patent number: 11246738
Abstract: A user wearable urinal bag concealment device for discrete public urination includes a first panel and a second panel. The second panel has a lower edge and opposing side edges that are coupled to a front face of the first panel to define a pouch that accessible at an upper edge of the second panel. A plurality of couplers that is coupled to an upper limit of the first panel is configured to couple the first panel to a male user so that the first panel is positioned over and substantially conceals a groin area of the male user. A slot is positioned in the first panel. The pouch is configured to position a urinal bag and to insert hands of the user, positioning the user to manipulate his penis through the slot into an open end of the urinal bag to discretely collect his urine.

  • Patent number: 11224543
Abstract: A method for detecting a state of a dressing includes measuring air pressure within a tube. The tube provides airflow between a pump device and the dressing. The method also includes determining whether the air pressure differs from a pressure setpoint by more than a preset limit, and running the pump to cause the air pressure to approach the pressure setpoint. In response to a determination that the air pressure does not differ from the pressure setpoint by more than the preset limit, the method also includes determining a duration of time since a last running of the pump, determining whether the duration of time since the last running of the pump exceeds a threshold duration, and, in response to a determination that the duration of time since the last running of the pump exceeds the threshold duration, generating an alert that indicates that the dressing is full.

  • Patent number: 11185618
Abstract: The present invention relates to a negative pressure generating device and an automatic negative pressure wound therapy device having a pressure changing function using the same. The present invention includes a static load elastic unit which provides an elastic force having a predetermined magnitude; a rotating unit which is connected to the static load elastic unit to rotate by the static load elastic unit; and a negative pressure cylinder which is connected to the rotating unit and interworks with the rotation of the rotating unit to generate a negative pressure therein. According to the present invention, a constant negative pressure may be consistently generated by a mechanical structure so that a manufacturing cost is significantly reduced as compared with an electrical structure and the size may be reduced.

  • Patent number: 11090189
Abstract: An eye drop alignment assembly includes a ring that has a bottle of eye drops being extendable therethrough. The ring has a plurality of engagements thereon and the engagements are spaced apart from each other and are positioned at strategic points around the ring. A plurality of legs is each movably coupled to a respective one of the engagements. A plurality of extensions is each pivotally coupled to a respective one of the legs. Each of the extensions is positionable at a selected angle with respect to the respective leg for aligning with a respective top and bottom eyelid. Additionally, each of the extensions spaces the ring away from the eyeball associated with a top and bottom eyelids. In this way the ring aligns the bottle of eye drops with the eyeball for successfully dispensing eye drops onto the eyeball.

  • Patent number: 11020318
Abstract: A push release closed system drug transfer apparatus for easy and secure drug transfer includes a cylindrical housing having a cylindrical housing having a top end, an outer wall, and a bottom end forming an inner cavity. The top end has a syringe aperture to receive a syringe. A needle tube is coupled to the cylindrical housing and extends from the syringe aperture to a principal aperture to receive a needle of the syringe. An inner cylinder is configured to selectively engage connector of a vial. An ejector spring moves the inner cylinder from a compressed position to an alternate decompressed position. A lock mechanism and a release secure the inner cylinder in the compressed position and alternatively free the inner cylinder to move to the alternate decompressed position.
