  • Patent number: 10210395
Abstract: A method and system that allows healthcare providers, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and other persons to monitor disabled, elderly or other high-risk individuals to prevent or reduce falls and/or mitigate the impact of a fall by delivering automated notification of “at risk” behavior and falls by such an individual being monitored where assistance is required. The monitored individual is virtually represented as a blob object of at least a specific size by a computerized monitoring system and such system detects and alerts when the blob object enters or crosses into a virtually defined or designated blob detection zone and remains in the zone for at least a predetermined period of time.

  • Patent number: 10210378
Abstract: An unauthorized visitor system collects an image of a person detected in a room of a patient. The system identifies reference points on the person's face, for example, points along the cheeks, jowls, and/or brow. The system may compare the reference points to reference points of images associated with registered visitors. The system then determines, based on the comparison, if the person is a registered visitor. One or more designated recipients may be alerted if the person is not a registered visitor or if the person breaches a patient identification zone established around a particular patient. The system may also register the person in a database of visitors.

  • Patent number: 10192112
Abstract: Field data is collected of a field. Each instance of field data contains information that can be used to determine a value corresponding to whether or not a plant is present or absent in a particular location and is referred to as a plant presence value. The plant presence values are aggregated using the position data associated with each instance of field data to generate aggregated plant presence values. Gaps between plots are identified based partly on variations in the plant presence values within the aggregated field data. Information known about a field can be used to heuristically identify gaps in a seed line or used to eliminate locations on a seed line that may look like a gap based on low plant presence values. The aggregated plant presence values can be presented as a heat map of plant presence values showing the relative plant density of the field.

  • Patent number: 10184893
Abstract: Examples relate to providing hyperspectral scanning of a surface. In some examples, motion capture data of unobstructed portions of the surface are captured, and spectral data of the surface are captured through a slit assembly and diffraction grating. The motion capture data are processed to determine a movement of a scanning device. At this stage, the spectral data are translated and rotated based on the movement of the scanning device to generate images that each correspond to a different color channel.

  • Patent number: 10147156
Abstract: There are many advantages to implementing a watermark-based system using dedicated hardware, rather than using software executing on a general purpose processor. These include higher speed and lower power consumption. However, hardware implementations incur substantial design and development costs. Moreover, because each watermarking application has its own design constraints and parameters, it has not been cost-effective to develop a hardware chip design for each, since such chips would typically not be manufactured in volumes sufficient to bring per-unit costs down to an acceptable level. The present technology provides various techniques for making watermarking hardware adaptable, so that a single chip can serve multiple diverse watermark applications. By so-doing, the advantages of hardware implementation are made available where it was formerly cost-prohibitive, thereby enhancing operation of a great variety of watermark-based systems.
