  • Patent number: 7086116
Abstract: A dental cleaning implement such as a toothbrush, having longitudinally disposed first and second parts flexibly joined together. Between the first and second parts is a rotatable member such that when the implement bends the first parts adjacent to the member bear upon the member. The rotatable member has circumferentially disposed relatively softer and harder regions, so that as the member is rotated the parts can be caused to bear compressibly upon selected softer or harder regions.

  • Patent number: 7077914
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a scraper suitable for use in removing material adhering to flat surfaces, e.g. paint. In the presently preferred embodiment, the scraper comprises a blade body, a scraping surface and a handle. The scraping surface extends longitudinally along a bottom edge of the blade body while the handle is affixed to a top edge of the blade body. The blade body comprises an elongate, flat body constructed of a rigid, yet flexible material, e.g. steel. The blade is characterized by a pair of angular bends dividing the blade into a center portion and two end portions, each portion being in a different plane. The bends are preferably positioned on opposite sides of the handle, more preferably equidistant from each end of the blade body. The end portions are angled to opposite sides of the center portion so that the angles are complementary, resulting in the end portions being generally parallel.

  • Patent number: 6976285
Abstract: The invention relates to a four-hinged wiper arm for a windshield wiper system, especially for an automobile wherein a connecting rod is pivotally connected to a driving arm in a first bearing point and to a control arm in a second bearing point. A hinged part is coupled to the connecting rod. A wiper blade that can be placed on the hinged part or on a wiper rod connected to the hinged part can be pressed against the windshield to be wiped by a spring element that is mounted on the four-hinged wiper arm. In order to ensure good wiping quality and low-noise operation over a long service period, the invention provides that the connecting rod or the driving arm or the control arm is fitted with an antifriction bearing at least one of the two locating points of the four hinged wiper arm. According to advantageous embodiments of the invention, the four-hinged wiper arm is fitted with an antifriction bearing on both bearing points, whereby the antifriction bearing is preferably a deep groove ball bearing.

  • Patent number: 6971136
Abstract: A swimming pool cleaner discharges water jets under the cleaner body, directed toward its center from its sides, to agitate and lift debris toward one or more vacuum intake openings, to greatly enhance the cleaning ability of the cleaner. The suspended dirt and debris become semi-buoyant under the force of the jetted water which is preferably moving in the same direction as the cleaner, so that the relative speed between the cleaner and the suspended dirt and debris is reduced, thereby enabling the cleaner to move at a relatively faster rate and still clean with equivalent or even greater efficiency than a pool cleaner that is not equipped with directional cleaning water jets. In addition, displaced front and back orientations of the intake ports allow for longer time for any dirt and debris to be picked up.

  • Patent number: 6889400
Abstract: The cleaning member for a medical tube is shaped like a spherical body having a porous fibrous structure formed of a large number of superfine fibers aggregated and intertwined three-dimensionally. The spherical body moves along a lumen surface of the medical tube together with a cleaning liquid, with the cleaning member wiping and cleaning the lumen surface of the medical tube. The porous member for cleaning the treatment appliance insertion lumen of the endoscope is formed approximately spherically by molding a large number of superfine fibers. The porous member can be swelled with an aqueous cleaning liquid. When the porous member swells, the outer diameter of the porous member becomes larger than the inner diameter of a treatment appliance insertion lumen of an endoscope to be cleaned. Further because the porous member deforms, the porous member can be inserted into the treatment appliance insertion lumen of the endoscope.
