Abstract: A method of playing a multi-stage wagering game is disclosed in which two random outputs may be generated. The outputs may be generated simultaneously or consecutively, and the second may be dependent upon the first output. If the first output is a predefined first-stage winning output, a first-stage prize may be awarded. If the second output is a predefined second-stage prize winning output, a second-stage prize may be awarded. If both the first and second outputs are prize winning outputs, a third-stage prize may be awarded. If a combination or partial combination of both the first and second outputs is a prize winning output, another third-stage prize may be awarded.
Abstract: A system and method for handicapping a ball game such as tennis or volleyball between opponents of lesser and greater skills, by varying or moving at least one of the parameters of the court on which the game is played, a sufficient amount to balance the disparity in such skills. The parameters described are the net, and court boundary lines which may be defined by electric luminescent tape embedded in, or fastened to, the surface of the court floor in parallel spaced lines which selectively can be lit to define the desired boundary, or, may be defined by projected lines on or adjacent to the floor from narrow beam or laser beam projectors capable of projecting lines at desired locations either from overhead or at floor level.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for communicating between a hand-held electronic game apparatus and other electronic systems is described. Small hand-held electronic games, preprogrammed with a single game, may be linked together through a communications unit to engage in interactive gaming between two users. Alternatively, the communications unit can be connected via a special cable connected to the serial port of a personal computer to permit connection to a central processing unit on an Internet website. The website central processing unit can modify the preprogrammed game, provide upgrades to the game, unlock hidden features and simulate a second hand-held electronic game apparatus for interactive play with a user. Software is installed on the personal computer permits communication between the hand-held electronic game and the personal computer, between the PC and the Internet website and thus between the hand-held game and the Internet website.
