  • Patent number: 7798942
Abstract: The present invention allows users to monitor their workouts using a small, portable device which provides feedback regarding speed of exercise repetition and range of motion, enabling the user to use pneumatic or cable driven workout structures safely, efficiently, and effectively. In a typical embodiment, the present invention allows a user to define pre-set requirements, attach the device to a cable-driven exercise structure, and complete the exercise while using the device to monitor the exercise. The device signals to the user if the user's execution of exercise repetitions falls outside the user's pre-set requirements for speed and range of motion. The results of the user's exercise repetitions are displayed on a display screen and are stored in the device's memory, and may then be uploaded onto the user's personal computer to further monitor progress.

  • Patent number: 7740569
Abstract: A fixed weight/permanent weight-lifting apparatus including dumbbells and barbells is provided including an elongated shaft having threaded ends, a centrally located handle, collars distal the threaded ends and tapered splines between the threaded ends and the collar and a head to provide the fixed weight of the apparatus that has been forced onto each end of the elongated shaft and a nut securely fastened on each of the threaded ends. When the nut is tightened onto each end with sufficient torque, the tapered spline is forced into the head and forms grooves in the head that correspond to ridges in the spline, which has a higher tensile strength than that of the head.

  • Patent number: 7727122
Abstract: A foldable treadmill includes a base frame, a front frame pivotally mounted on the base frame, a rear frame pivotally mounted on the front frame, a movable frame pivotally mounted on the front frame and slidably mounted on the base frame, a driver mounted on the front frame and provided with a retractable inner tube, and a connecting bracket secured on the movable frame and pivotally mounted on the inner tube of the driver. Thus, the rear frame is folded when not in use to reduce the whole volume of the treadmill efficiently. In addition, the front end of the rear frame is lifted to change the inclined angle of the rear frame, so that the user can practice running or walking on a slope.

  • Patent number: 7641603
Abstract: The present invention pertains to an exercising apparatus comprising a coupling mechanism and a synchronizing mechanism. The coupling mechanism is a rack assembly that includes two elongated bars extending longitudinally within the deck of the apparatus. The elongated bars receive a vertical arm of a platform when inserted through longitudinal slots of the deck. Each end of the elongated bar terminate with a wheel for rolling on a respective trough. The elongated bars further including vertical teeth disposed on the inner surface of each elongated bar for engaging the synchronizing mechanism. A pinion assembly includes a central wheel that rotates about a vertical axis. The external teeth of the central wheel are thereafter meshed with the vertical teeth of the elongated bars to provide synchronous movement as the elongated bars reciprocate.

  • Patent number: 7601097
Abstract: To simulatively implement a retreating movement of a bicycle in a state wherein a rider dismounts from the bicycle. A simulated bicycle includes a steering angle sensor for detecting a steering angle of a handlebar, a momentary type retreating switch provided at a rear lower portion of a saddle, and a monitor for displaying a scene based on a simulated traveling speed, the steering angle and a signal of the retreating switch. When the retreating switch is operated, an image of a bicycle and a person who operates the bicycle to retreat is displayed on the monitor. The retreating switch is operated through a level so that the rider having dismounted from the bicycle can readily manually operate the same.

  • Patent number: 7563210
Abstract: A gyroscopic exercise device has a pair of handles attached to a housing. A user holds and rotates the handles along cone-like paths causing precession of a rotor, which is rotating about its spin axis, to provide resistance to the user. The device has an axle disc that holds ends of an axle of the rotor. The periphery of the axle disc and the ends of the rotor axle are within a circular race in the housing. A motor attached to the axle disc has a wheel for rotating the rotor about a spin axis by a temporary supply of power from included batteries in one of the handles. The batteries are in between two opposite springs in one of the handles and normally biased away from an electrical contact until the user pushes them through an end pin to overcome the bias.
