  • Patent number: 11433289
Abstract: Systems and applications, e.g., software applications running on mobile devices such as smart phones, tablets, and the like, are described that provide for terrain-based simulation of particular desired or selected running/walking courses, e.g. a race course or a non-race jogging/training route, on a treadmill. The terrain-based simulation can include providing instructions for the user for making adjustments and/or settings of the treadmill to simulate changes that a runner/jogger/walking person would encounter on the actual selected course due to the actual changes of terrain on that course. The terrain-based adjustments and/or settings can include the incline/decline of the treadmill surface, e.g., along the long axis or parallel to the moving surface, and/or effort required to move the treadmill surface. Other adjustments and/or settings can be used in addition to or instead of any of the previously described ones to further simulate conditions of a selected course.

  • Patent number: 11413497
Abstract: An exercise machine may be adjustable to vary a characteristic of the exercise provided by the machine, for example by changing the reciprocation path of movable components of the machine. In some examples, adjustment to an incline of the path of a reciprocating linkage may be achieved, for example by a lift assembly, the components of which may be arranged in a manner that provides a relatively compact form factor. In general, a more compact design may be achieved through the examples of the present disclosure, for example by co-axially locating a rotatable resistance element on the driven/input shaft.

  • Patent number: 11364413
Abstract: A reaction force detection system for treadmills and detection method thereof is disclosed, wherein the system detects the current data generated by a user running on a treadmill comprising a running belt, a motor and an electronic circuit device by means of a current sensor, and then determines a current peak based on the current data, such that a ground reaction force peak can be determined according to the acquired current peak. Therefore, the present invention allows to determine the ground reaction force of the human body during running through the changes of the motor current signals inside the treadmill, such that these parameters can be further presented, analyzed, and stored in order to provide more scientific feedbacks for running trainings.

  • Patent number: 11351421
Abstract: A computer implemented system provides a cruise control function, during a fitness equipment-based workout, to report a power output amount based on a cruise control set-point. The system includes a piece of fitness equipment, a control device, and a computing device. The fitness equipment produces an output corresponding to actual power produced on the fitness equipment. The control device transmits an indication of power being produced to the computing device as an input to a fitness training game. In a first operational state, the indication represents the actual amount of power being produced via operation of the fitness equipment by the user, but in a second operational state, the numerical indication is a virtual power amount corresponding to a cruise control set-point amount established via the control device.

  • Patent number: 11351371
Abstract: An intensity of fitness apparatus output can be customized for a user during a workout session. A user profile of the user may be accessed to determine a starting intensity value at which output is to be provided by the user's fitness apparatus. Based on this starting intensity value and on command data associated with a workout session, an intensity profile for the user may be determined (e.g., created), which is usable for controlling an intensity of the output of the fitness apparatus during the workout session. While media content featuring an instructor conducting the workout session is output on an output device, the user's device may send commands to the fitness apparatus to control the intensity of the output of the fitness apparatus in accordance with the starting intensity value and, subsequently, the intensity profile of the user.
