Abstract: The descender comprises a handle and a cam that are movable between a securing position and a sliding position of the rope. The cam defines a first stop and a second pin. The handle has a first pin coming into contact with the first stop to form a first mechanical link and a second stop coming into contact with the second pin. Movement of the handle results in movement of the cam between the securing and sliding positions. In a threshold position of the handle, the first mechanical link is interrupted and the cam returns to the securing position. The second stop is movable with respect to the handle by means of a spring. When movement of the handle takes place, the second pin comes into contact with the second stop before the handle stresses a spring and reaches the threshold position.
Abstract: A fall-protection apparatus with a friction-braking system comprising a handle that is disconnectably connected to a braking cam so that when the handle is moved from a braking position to a non-braking position the braking cam is pivotally moved from a braking configuration to a non-braking configuration, and so that when the handle is moved to a disconnecting position the connection between the handle and the braking cam is disconnected.
Abstract: There is described a step comprising a single foot secured to the floor for supporting a hinge system and a board onto which a user can step. The foot has an inclination ? with respect to the floor, wherein the inclination ? is fixed and lies between 45° and 80°. The hinge system installed on the foot provides a hinge with respect to the foot. The board extending in a plane is fixedly secured to the hinge system and hinges between a stowed position and a working position. The board is substantially horizontal when in the working position, and inclined at the inclination ? when in the stowed position. The board is adjacent to surfaces of the foot and of the cap onto the hinge system, and does not define any acute angle with these adjacent surfaces. The board has a recess that, upon hinging, always conforms to the cap.
