  • Patent number: 11457132
Abstract: In illustrative implementations, an imaging system may comprise a lens, an optical cavity and a time-of-flight camera. The imaging system may capture an image of a scene. The image may be formed by light that is from the scene and that passes through the optical cavity and the lens. In some cases, the lens is in front of the optical cavity, enabling the Euclidean distance between the lens and the camera sensor to be less than the nominal focal length of the lens. In some cases, the lens is inside the optical cavity, enabling the camera to acquire ultrafast multi-zoom images without moving or changing the shape of any optical element. In some cases, the lens is behind the optical cavity, enabling the system to perform ultrafast multi-spectral imaging. In other cases, an optical cavity between the scene and time-of-camera enables ultrafast ellipsometry measurements or ultrafast spatial frequency filtering.

  • Patent number: 11442205
Abstract: An optical prism that includes an interlock structure that precisely couples to a complementary structure of a refractive lens. For precision, the interlock structure may be formed at the same time and using the same technique as the optical surface of the prism. The interlock structure provides high accuracy when assembling a folded lens system by precisely aligning the object side optical surface of the lens with the image side optical surface of the prism so that the optical axis is centered in the lens. The prism may have refractive power. A portion of the object side surface may be coated with an opaque material to provide an aperture stop at that surface.

  • Patent number: 11438533
Abstract: The present technology relates to a solid-state imaging device, a method of driving the same, and an electronic apparatus. The solid-state imaging device includes a pixel having a photodiode that performs photoelectric conversion on incident light, and a driving control unit configured to control driving of the pixel. The pixel stores a first charge generated by the photoelectric conversion in the photodiode and stores a second charge generated by the photoelectric conversion in a first capacitor provided in a pixel separation portion. The driving control unit causes a pixel signal due to the second charge stored in the first capacitor to be output and then a pixel signal due to the first charge stored in the photodiode to be output. The present technology may be applied, for example, to a solid-state imaging device or the like that detects both electrons and holes to perform high dynamic range imaging.
