  • Patent number: 11727797
Abstract: A system for communicating a traffic condition to an upstream vehicle can include a processor, disposed on an ego vehicle, and a memory. The memory can store a determination module and a communications module. The determination module can include instructions that cause the processor to determine, by the ego vehicle in a first lane, an existence of the traffic condition that includes a difference, between an actual velocity of a vehicle in a second lane and an expected velocity, being greater than a threshold. The communications module can include instructions that cause the processor to: (1) cause, in response to the existence, a communications device of the ego vehicle to communicate, to the upstream vehicle, information about the traffic condition and (2) cause, in response to an absence of the existence, the communications device to refrain from communicating, to the upstream vehicle, the information about the traffic condition.

  • Patent number: 11705006
Abstract: The disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for issuing a hazard warning to an animate object located in a vicinity of a vehicle. In an example method, a processor in a warning system of a vehicle, detects an animate object (a person or an animal) in the vicinity of a first vehicle and determines a hazard posed to the animate object. The hazard, which may be caused by the first vehicle or another vehicle that is moving in a collision course with the animate object, can be evaluated by determining a trajectory of the animate object and a trajectory of the vehicle. If the probability of intersection of the two trajectories exceeds a threshold intersection probability level, the processor recognizes a hazard and issues a warning to the animate object (a horn beep, flashing lights, or a text message to a smart device of the person).

  • Patent number: 11699344
Abstract: A traffic light management system that manages display of traffic lights includes a communication device, a control device, and a map database. The control device performs emergency control of the display when abnormal traveling information indicating the information on an abnormally traveling vehicle is included in the information received from a communication vehicle. In the emergency control, the control device predicts a future trajectory of the abnormally traveling vehicle based on the abnormal traveling information. Next, the control device generates the emergency control signal for temporarily prohibiting passage at an intersection and a crosswalk on a road along the future trajectory based on the map information and the future trajectory. After that, the control device sends the emergency control signal to controlled traffic lights. The controlled traffic lights are each a traffic light at the intersection and the crosswalk on a road along the future trajectory.

  • Patent number: 11682298
Abstract: The present method permits to get real-time traffic data by the mean of pictures took by a series of georeferenced and synchronized high speed cameras installed on the portions of the road. These pictures and these data will be transferable by a secure means such as 5G or any other fast and secure technology on a server and accessible by cloud computing. Picture processing is carried out by photogrammetric, triangulation and picture recognition approaches in order to extract the position of each vehicle, pedestrian, cyclist or any object and identify its x, y, z coordinates in a local or global referencing system. This method permits to count the flow of traffic (vehicles, pedestrians, etc.) passing through these roads portions, to reproduce the real movements of vehicles, pedestrians and any object moving on a road, make simulations with a computer and intervene remotely in real-time to manage traffic.
