    Abstract: An electric plug is constructed to include a front housing having a plurality of notches formed in aligned manner along a rear side thereof. A set of conducting blades are mounted in the front housing such that they extend outward in a direction perpendicular to a front side of the front housing for insert into an electric outlet. The conducting blades are formed with rear ends which respectively extend into the notches of the front housing. A rear housing is pivotally coupled to the front housing, and a set of metal terminals are mounted in the rear housing and respectively pivoted to the rear ends of the conducting blades for enabling the rear housing to be turned relative to the front housing between two positions within 90 degrees.

A light emitting device and a light transmitting element are disposed on top of the insulative housing. The insulative housing includes two slots disposed on top of the insulative housing. The light emitting device is fitted into the slot above the insulative housing so that a certain distance is maintained between the light emitting device in the slot and the light transmitting element. The casing covers the outer part of the insulative housing, the light transmitting device, and the light transmitting element wherein at least a front side of the insulative housing and a front side of the transmitting element are exposed.

    Abstract: A low profile fiber network interface device is disclosed including a housing enclosure having a front cover hinged to a rear fixed housing portion. An inner connection divider wall is also hingedly fixed to the enclosure which is rotatable between a position which the divider wall lies against the fixed housing portion, and to an open position where it lies adjacent to the open cover. The divider wall also includes a rotatable working tray which rotates to a substantial horizontal position, and the tray includes devices for retaining coiled fiber in position. The divider wall also includes an interface wall including a plurality of fiber optic connector headers whereby one side is accessible only from the back side of the divider wall, whereas the other header is accessible from the front of the divider wall. In this manner, when the divider wall is locked in the closed position, users cannot access the opposite side which is dedicated to the telecom service.

    Abstract: A lever-type connector has first and second housings (10, 20) that can be mated with one another. A lever (30) is mounted rotatably on the first housing (10). A cam groove (35) is formed on the lever (30) and engages a follower pin (22) on the second housing (20) to connect the housings (10, 20). The cam groove (35) has steep surface area (45) whose distance from a center of rotation of the lever (30) decreases at a higher rate than the other areas of the cam groove (35) and is formed at a position of the cam groove (35) slightly before a terminus end (35B). Thus, an operation resistance peaks when follower pins (22) reach the steep surface areas (45). This peak operation resistance is larger than a sum of a resistance required to engage a lock (41) with a projection (26) and a connection resistance acting between housings (10, 20).

    Abstract: A ZIF socket (1) includes a base (10), a cover (20) slidably mounted on the base, a plurality of conductive terminals (30) received in a plurality of passageways (12) defined in the base, and an actuation protection device (24). The base defines a recess (16) at one end thereof, and the cover defines a through slot (22) at one end thereof corresponding to the recess. The actuation protection device includes a tenon (240) insert-molded in the cover, and a stop (242) protruding upwardly from the tenon. When an actuation tool (5) actuates the cover to slide between a first position and a second position, the actuation tool directly abuts against the actuation protection device. Therefore, the actuation protection device protects the cover and an associated CPU from being damaged by the actuation tool. Accordingly, the ZIF socket is apt to have an extended cycles lifetime.

A doorbell switch having a vertical range of motion is manually depressed to signal the server and commence an orderly shutdown of the peripheral card in advance of online replacement of the peripheral card. A panel switch provides a mechanical lock retaining the peripheral card in place, and also function as a backup power interrupt device to protect the peripheral card in the event that depression of the doorbell button does not result in an orderly shutdown of the peripheral card.

An insert assembly positions the spring contacts within a jack for electrical contact with the contacts of a plug. The insert assembly staggers the relative positions of adjacent spring contacts in the y-direction, and staggers the spring contact pivot points in the x-direction, yet maintains a common contact region for all the spring contacts for contacting the contacts of the plug. The distal ends of alternating spring contacts are positioned so as to increase the isolation between adjacent springs. The insert assembly includes selected air passages between spring contacts mounted to the insert assembly to increase isolation and selected dielectric to increase crosstalk cancellation.
