  • Patent number: 7149556
Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) device for authorizing user access to portions of a computer system. The RF device includes a power supply, processing circuitry that accesses the power supply according to a location of the RF device, and an antenna that transmits communication signals from the processing circuitry to a transponder that is coupled to the computer system. The processing circuitry is configured to operate at a first power level until the communication signals indicate that the location of the RF device is within a first range of the transponder. The processing circuitry is configured to begin operations at a second power level after the RF device is positioned within the first range of the transponder. The processing circuitry is also configured to operate at the second power level until the communication signals indicate that the location of the RF device has moved outside of a second range from the transponder.

  • Patent number: 7058417
Abstract: A method for messaging service, e.g. short message service (SMS), in a mobile phone, capable of inputting a phone number of receiver directly into a message editing window. Disclosed is also a computer-readable recording medium including therein a software program for execution of the method. After the user has entered a message, it is determined which type of a direct input is requested by the user for inputting of the address of the receiver in the message editing window. If the requested type determined by the user for the direct input of the address is an input by a look-up (searching) function, it is activated an address look-up window as a new display layer while still activating the message editing window, and inputted the address of the receiver selected by the user directly into the message editing window.

  • Patent number: 7050807
Abstract: A hardware resource identifier (19) recognizes hardware resource dependencies in a multi-channel communications system. Initially, system communications domains (D1-D4) in which system hardware resources are located are identified. Next, managed hardware resources, hardware resource groups and hardware resource group boundaries among the system hardware resources are identified. Association labels are then assigned to the system hardware resources to identify relationships, if any, between the system hardware resources and external hardware, to discern redundant resources within respective ones of the hardware resource groups, and to characterize dedicated coupling between individual ones of the system hardware resources.

  • Patent number: 7046995
Abstract: The mobile application security system and method in accordance with the invention increases the overall level of security in using a mobile application. In a preferred embodiment, the system may use a peer-to-peer architecture wherein each host of a mobile application is a node of the peer-to-peer network. In operation, when a mobile application jumps between hosts (nodes), information about the mobile application is generated and sent to a central security enforcement node so that the central security enforcement node may perform various security checks. The security checks ensure that the security of the mobile application is not compromised.

  • Patent number: 7039397
Abstract: A universal remote control interacts with a user to assist in training to one or more appliances. If the appliance is activated by a rolling code activation signal, a sequence of different rolling code activation signals is transmitted until the user indicates a successful rolling code transmission. If the appliance is activated by a fixed code activation signal, a fixed code word is used to generate and transmit each of a sequence of different fixed code activation signals until the user indicates a successful fixed code transmission. • Patent number: 7027807
Abstract: The inventive method enables existing contracts between a user and a telecommunications network operator to be enlarged by a user dialling into a customer subscription and administration server (CSAS). The access procedure of the existing contract relation is used for authenticating the user. The subscription of new contract components, such as clearing of a new terminal for instance that has been purchased by dispatch is carried out in a menu-controlled manner and by means of instruction texts and tactile inputs. The aim of the invention is to authenticate the calling user, authorise the additional contracts, changes and services which can be subscribed and administered by the corresponding user and store newly subscribed or changed contracts and services. The CSAS is connected to the corresponding data bases of the telecommunications network, such as CCBS, CDB and HLR. IP dialling options are optionally provided by means of the telecommunications network and/or the public internet.

  • Patent number: 7020461
Abstract: To provide a propagation environment notification method in radio communication allowing a user to easily understand radio propagation environment information. When receiving a service start command C1 from a user terminal 100, a server 102 transfers software for clients to the user terminal 100 (C2). The user terminal 100 starts the transferred software for clients, and a user condition inputting process P2 is carried out to collect user specific information and radio base station information and transfer the same to the server 102 (C3). When receiving the information, the server 102 starts a distribution information generating process P1 for generating radio propagation environment information based on the information, and the generated information is transferred to the user terminal 100 (C4), and is converted into a format convenient for the user by the software for clients transferred on the user terminal 100, and displayed on the user terminal 100 (P3).
