  • Patent number: 5956986
Abstract: On a cylinder lock (1) tumblers (10) are disposed which extend parallel to the broad side (8, 9) of the lock channel (6). The ends of these tumblers (10) block between the rotor (3) and the stator (4). On the rear side (17), facing away from the key channel (6), of the tumblers (10) are disposed additional codings. These codings cooperate with additional two-part blocking elements (20). These blocking elements (20) are displaceable at right angles to the lock axis and block in addition in the region of the shear line (32) between rotor (3) and stator (4). Therewith additional blocking combinations are possible and the security of the lock against unauthorized opening is increased.

  • Patent number: 5927776
Abstract: A door handle extension apparatus which improves existing door handle/locksets specifically extending the handle portion of a door handle/lockset thus allowing unincumbered use of the handle portion of the lockset. In one embodiment, the invention utilizes an extender which moves the handle portion away from the door. A shaft located within the extender transfers the force applied to the handle portion to the latch locksets located within the door portion. In another embodiment, a conventional handle portion of a lockset has been modified to include an elongated neck which spaces the handle away from the door to accommodate mini-blinds and the like.

  • Patent number: 5918916
Abstract: An automatic door latch has a case and a bolt movable within the case between a fully extended position in which the bolt extends forwardly of the case and a partially extended position in which the bolt is positioned to contact a door strike. There is a plunger mounted on the bolt, with the bolt and plunger being relatively movable. A spring biases the bolt toward a fully extended position and a spring biases the plunger outwardly of the case. The plunger has a projection which limits outward movement of the plunger to a position in which its extension is the same as that of the bolt when it is in its partially extended position. There is a stop on the bolt movable toward and away from the case and there are projections on the case which coact with the bolt stop to limit bolt extension to its partially extended position.

  • Patent number: 5918915
Abstract: A locking device for a set of double sliding doors comprising two U-shaped clips and a flexible band operatively engaging both clips. The locking device is designed to prevent the relative movement of double sliding doors which comprise an interior door and an exterior door, with the interior door sliding in an interior track and the exterior door sliding in an exterior track. The interior and exterior tracks are parallel to each other. In a closed position, an inside vertical stile of the interior door is adjacent to, and which overlaps an inside vertical stile of the exterior door defining a space between the interior and exterior doors. A U-shaped clip is secured to the inside stile of each sliding door. The flexible band is secured at its first end to the U-shaped clip secured to the inside stile of the interior door and then traverses through the space between the interior and exterior doors to the inside stile of the exterior door.

  • Patent number: 5906123
Abstract: A passenger vehicle door latch assembly includes inhibiting means for preventing accidental setting of the latch to locked condition while the door is open. A resiliently loaded plunger is guided in fixed structure between a blocking position at which a head or other stop formation of the plunger prevents shifting of an element of a locking mechanism to its locked position and a free position at which locking can take place. The plunger co-acts with a face of a claw or other latch formation or with a face of a pawl or other retention element whenever the latter formation or element are not in their door securing relationship so preventing movement of the plunger from the blocking position until the door is closed.

  • Patent number: 5906124
Abstract: A lock assembly includes a base member having a bottom with a peripheral wall extending from a periphery defining the bottom, two rods extending from the bottom and two openings defined through the peripheral wall. Each of the rods has a board and a disk respectively and rotatably mounted thereto which is accessed via the openings. Each of the boards has a protrusion extending therefrom which has two sides. A slide has a slot defined therethrough so as to slidably mount to the rods. A periphery defining the slot has two pairs of opposite sides, a width between each of the two opposite sides being smaller than a length of the protrusion and larger than a width between the two sides of the protrusion. The movement of the slide actuates a limit device disposed to the lock assembly.

  • Patent number: 5904057
Abstract: A lockable fuel cap is provided including a closure member having a drive tooth and a removal hub. The hub includes a drive lug and moves between a lock position in which the drive lug is spaced-apart from the drive tooth and a release position in which the drive lug engages the drive tooth. An outer shell is also provided and includes an interior wall defining a guiding slot to receive the drive lug and guide movement of the removal hub between the two positions. The shell is drivingly coupled to the hub so that the member remains stationary upon rotation of the shell when the drive lug is in the lock position. The member rotates upon rotation of the shell when the drive lug is in the release position.
