Abstract: A golf club head comprising a channel, a slidable weight that can be reversibly fixed at any point within the channel, and a pocket to store a portion of the slidable weight is disclosed herein. The slidable weight comprises first and second weight plates, each made of materials having different densities, a lightweight retainer, a screw, and a nut. The second weight plate has the same dimensions as, and is interchangeable with, the first weight plate and is disposed in a pocket in the sole proximate the face of the golf club head. The retainer and nut have snap-fit features that allow them to remain loosely attached to one another during adjustment of the assembly and when one weight plate is swapped with the other.

Abstract: A grip for a golf club includes a cylindrical portion into which a shaft is inserted; and an end cap portion. The cylindrical portion, on its outer surface, includes a minute projection region where a plurality of minute projections each of which has a maximum width of 0.2 mm or more and 1.2 mm or less are arranged at intervals of 0.05 mm or more and 0.7 mm or less. The minute projection region is disposed in a first region whose distance in an axial direction from a grip butt end is from 0 mm to 210 mm. Of the grip, a portion from the grip butt end up to 50 mm therefrom has a weight of 10 g or more, and the weight accounts for 39% or more of the whole weight of the grip.

Abstract: A grip for a golf club is disclosed herein. The grip comprises an inner layer, an outer layer, a primer layer and a topcoat layer. At least one layer comprises a thermochromic pigment or a thermochromic paint.

Abstract: Some disclosed golf club heads include body having at least one raised sole portion and a cantilevered ledge extending down around a perimeter of the club head below the level of the raised sole portion. Some disclosed golf club heads include one or more sole openings in the body and a sole insert that is mounted inside the body over the sole openings. The sole can include weight tracks as well, and a rear weight track can extend between a toe side sole opening and a heel side sole opening. A crown insert can also be included that is mounted over an upper opening in the body.

Abstract: A golf club head includes a head body having a crown, sole and skirt therebetween, the head body defining an opening in a front portion and having a frame support around the periphery of the opening. A face plate is mounted within the opening and has a transition radius along one or more edges to at least partially wrap around one or more of the crown, sole and skirt. The head includes thin wall zones in the crown and skirt, a hosel flush with the crown and a weight mounted in the sole proximate to the face plate, such that the golf club head has a center of gravity located relatively low and forward in proximity to the face plate.

Abstract: Embodiments of golf club heads with variable face geometry and material properties are described herein. Various embodiments include a golf club head comprising a body configured to receive a faceplate from a set of faceplates. The body comprises a heel region, a toe region opposite the heel region, a sole, and a crown. The faceplate is from the set of faceplates and coupled to the body. The set of faceplates comprises a heel region, a toe region, a top portion, and a bottom portion, and further comprises at least one of a varying hardness profile or a varying thickness profile. Other examples and related methods are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: A pre-molded or moldable shaft grip includes a pre-configured or moldable section disposed within a substantially circular outer grip layer. A pre-configured or moldable section substantially conforms to a player's grip, facilitating consistent finger placement. The pre-configured section may comprise the shaft, a separate section, or multiple sections of varying durometer. The moldable section may include a layer of moldable material, or a cavity disposed between the outer grip layer and the shaft containing a moldable substance. Overall grip durometer can be adjusted by varying the pressure within the cavity.

Abstract: A golf club includes a shaft and a clubhead coupled to the shaft by a hosel. The clubhead includes a face, a toe at a distal end of the clubhead and a heel at an opposite distal end of the clubhead and opposite the toe. The clubhead further includes a magnesium insert disposed on the face of the clubhead between the toe and heel of the clubhead as a striking surface of the clubhead. The clubhead even further includes weighting material of a second density that is more than a first density of a material of the clubhead in place of a portion of the material of the clubhead.

Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for connecting shaft portions of sports equipment comprising a first shaft portion of sports equipment; a second shaft portion of sports equipment; a locking means for mounting the first and second shaft portions; the locking means comprising a locking ring, an extending member and a first receiver means; the extending member mounted to the second shaft portion; the first receiver means comprising a hollow portion adapted for receiving the first portion of the extending member; the first receiver means mounted to the first shaft portion; the locking ring rotatable mounted on the extending member; the extending member comprising a first portion which is removable mounted to the first receiver means; and the first portion adapted for restricting the rotational movement of the extending member inside the first shaft portion.

Abstract: A putter comprises a handle at an upper end of a shaft of the putter to be grasped by one hand of a user, while an upper portion of the shaft between the handle and the head is to be grasped by a second hand of the user. The handle is arranged for swiveling movement relative to the upper shaft portion along a predetermined angular path defined about a transverse handle axis distinct from a shaft axis so that the handle can be fixedly held by the user and the shaft displaced in forward swinging movement along the predetermined angular path for hitting a golf ball.

Abstract: A golf club head according to the present invention includes a head body and at least one cover member attached to the head body and having a specific gravity smaller than the head body. The head body has an internal space, and includes at least one opening and in communication with the internal space, and at least one bridge portion having a traverse portion that traverses at least the opening and extending along an inner wall surface of the head body. The opening is closed by the cover member, a height of the bridge portion from the inner wall surface of the head body changes in a direction in which the bridge portion extends.

Abstract: A golf club stand of unitary construction having a snap on open collar and two supporting legs that downwardly and outwardly extend away from the open collar in a mirrored configuration. Each supporting leg ends in feet that rest on a supporting surface, such as anyplace along a golf course, so that when a shaft of a golf club is snapped into the open collar, the golf club stands in a upright orientation with the support of the feet, making the golf club highly visible.

Abstract: A weight system for a putter type golf club that creates a balance point close to a golfer's hands when the putter is used in a normal manner for execution of a putting stroke. The putter is formed of a putter head, an elongated, constant ¼ inch diameter solid metal shaft; and a weighted, cylindrical adapter attached to an upper section of the elongated shaft between an overlying golf grip and the shaft.

Abstract: A ball striking device has a face with a striking surface and a body extending rearwardly from the outer periphery of the face. A channel crosses a centerline of the sole, and includes a trough defined between front and rear edges and extending in a heel-toe direction. The device further has internal interconnection structure for connection of a shaft to the head. A bore or access opening is provided to access the interconnecting structure. The rear edge of the first portion of the channel in its entirety is positioned more proximate to the face than to a rear of the golf club head. The access opening and the front edge of the channel at the centerline of the sole are spaced from the outer periphery of the face by equal distances, and a part of the channel passes between the access opening and the rear of the golf club head.

Abstract: A golf club head comprises a body having a face, a crown and a sole together defining an interior cavity. The body having a channel located on the sole and extending generally from a heel end of the body to a toe end of the body. A weight member movably positioned within the channel such that a position of the weight member within the channel is able to be adjusted, thereby adjusting a location of a center of gravity of the body. Additionally, adjustment of the weight member provides a maximum x-axis adjustment range of the position of the center of gravity (Max ?CGx) that is greater than 2 mm and a maximum z-axis adjustment range of the center of gravity (Max ?CGz) that is less than 2 mm.

Abstract: A set of golf clubs with a plurality of at least two combinations of different lengths of a minimum of three golf clubs in each combination having progressive lofts that are matched to provide identical swing characteristics requiring unique loft and club length progressions to provide consistent yardage spacing between irons within a combination and between combinations. Each club in a combination is further defined by the shaft having an equal length; an identical swing weight, an identical grip weight and an identical head weight.

Abstract: A golf ball retriever includes a body member having a ball receiving opening at one end that opens to a ball receiving cavity within the body member. Opposed bosses extend from the body member and include boss openings external to the ball receiving cavity. A retention member extends across the ball receiving cavity and has opposed ends secured within the boss openings. The body member may include at least one flange having a pivot opening and the pole-mounting member includes a pivot hole opening. A pivot member extends through the respective pivot openings of the body member and pole-mounting member to provide a hinge for pivotal rotation of the pole-mounting member with respect to the body member. A telescoping pole is coupled to the body member. A no-rotation telescoping pole including a plurality of non-circular shaft sections is optionally employed.

Abstract: A golf putter that enables dual configuration, namely sighting & play modes whereby the golfer can view both the ball and the hole by means of a mirrored surface, but which is reversible so that the golfer can play within tournament rules. A removable mirrored training aid has a reflective side and can be removed, flipped to a non-reflective side, or simply replaced with a same-weighted non-reflective plate, for use in actual (non-practice) golf play. The golfer can practice his or her stroke while observing the image of the ball and hole in the mirror, and thereby imprinting the correct stroke mechanics into muscle memory. Then, after the golfer has reversed the re-attachable mirrored surface plate to present its non-reflective side, the golfer can use the putter in a round of golf.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an integrated golf club support installed at the top of a golf club grip, distal from the club head. When the club is laid on the ground in the prone position, the support elevates the shaft of the club to prevent undesirable contact between the playing surface or ground and the golf club grip.
