  • Patent number: 4757457
Abstract: A numerical control apparatus having a feedrate difference reduction capability suitable for use with a multi-axis machine tool. Feedrate differences for respective control axes are calculated from a machining program, and decelerations for the respective control axes are calculated from preestablished allowable feedrate difference settings and the calculated feedrate differences. The control axes are controlled to be displaced within the allowable feedrate difference settings based on the calculated decelerations.

  • Patent number: 4754404
Abstract: A method of cutting a contour in an image film according to the present invention includes a rough contour-selecting and recording step in which a rough contour of required portions in the image film are memorized in the form of coordinates X, Y; and error-detecting step for establishing a true contour from a concentration-difference of an image taken by a picture-taking element, which is controllably driven by memory output of the recorded rough contour, by determining the magnitude of a deviation between the true contour and the rough contour and the direction of the deviation; a step of correcting the record of the rough contour by the determined value and memorizing the true contour in another memory medium as a collection of new X, Y coordinates; and a step of cutting the film by a cutter controlled by output from the memory medium.

  • Patent number: 4748570
Abstract: Apparatus for confirming the clamping conditions of a clamping device which is used to clamp workpieces of different sizes. Signals corresponding to the kind of workpiece being clamped are derived from the flow rate of pressurized fluid used to drive the actuator of the clamping device. These signals are used to confirm the clamping conditions and also the kind, and the presence or absence, of the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 4747063
Abstract: In a method of trimming a width of an elongate sheet stock by a side trimmer, respective minimum widths of both side portions, i.e. a work side portion and a drive side portion, of the stock are measured in advance, and then respective trimming allowance values of the two side portions are determined on the basis of the thus measured minimum widths thereof, respectively. According to this method, the elongate stock can be kept free from insufficiency of the trimming allowance during the trimming operation. Thus the present method makes it possible to determine an optimum set value for the side trimmer to trim the elongate stock in consideration of the actual width of the stock and a desired final width of a finished stock or product.

  • Patent number: 4734845
Abstract: A trajectory display system displays a still picture, which includes a machining region, and a trajectory by making a color designation in the form of a black base picture background color (a) and a three-color bit pattern R (red), G (green) and B (blue). A display color (e) of the still picture and the display color (e) of the machining region are designated in a relationship where the colors are mutually complementary. The display color of the still picture superimposed on the machining region is made to appear black, which is identical with the background color designated to be black, and the display color of the trajectory and the display color of the machining region are displayed in the same color.

  • Patent number: 4733343
Abstract: A numerical controller for a grinding machine composed of a central processing unit (CPU), which is programmed to read out a numerical control program block by block from a memory device and to control a pulse generation circuit to generate pulses of such number and frequency as determined by the read-out data block, for supply to feed servomechanisms of the grinding machine. The CPU is also programmed to execute a trouble identification routine and a trouble processing routine at predetermined time intervals. The trouble identification routine enables the CPU to identify the kinds of troubles occurring in the grinding machine and to assort the troubles into a number of trouble modes.

  • Patent number: 4712173
Abstract: The present invention uses an input multiplexer for selecting a plurality of input signals, a fluid multiplexer for selectively delivering a control output to a plurality of devices to be controlled, a detecting multiplexer for selecting detected signals indicative of the condition in which the devices respond, a controller for controlling the multiplexers for successive and repeated selective operations, for effecting a controlling arithmetic operation on an input signal fed through the input multiplexer and a detected signal fed through the detecting multiplexer, and for delivering a control signal resulting from the controlling arithmetic operation, and an electropneumatic transducer for converting the control signal to a pneumatic pressure and issuing the pneumatic pressure as an input to the fluid multiplexer.
