    Abstract: A metered dose inhaler (1) for dispensing aerosol doses comprises an actuation housing (2) adapted to receive a canister (4). The canister (4) is configured to move from a rest position to an activation position in which a valve (7) of the canister (4), positioned at a valve end (8) of the canister (4), is depressed against a bottom portion of the actuation housing such that an aerosol dose is released. The inhaler (1) further comprises a mechanical dose (10) counter comprising an indicator member which is constructed and arrangement to undergo a predetermined count-indicating motion when an aerosol dose is released. Moreover, the inhaler (1) comprises a triggering unit (11) for triggering at least one electrical switch (12) when the canister (4) is moved from the rest position to the activation position whereby an electrical signal is generated. Also part of the inhaler (1) is a processing unit for processing the signal generated by the switch (12) upon being triggered.

    Abstract: A resuscitator mouth shield assembly for protecting a caregiver from bodily fluids during CPR includes a resuscitation bag that has a hose extending toward a face cup. A coupler releasably engages the resuscitation bag and a panel is rotatably coupled to the coupler. The panel is spaced from the resuscitation bag when the coupler is positioned on the resuscitation bag. Moreover, the panel is positioned between a patient's face and a caregiver when the resuscitation bag is positioned on the user's face. In this way the panel inhibits bodily fluids that are expelled from the patient from contacting the caregiver.

    Abstract: A dual pressure respiratory assistance device including a gas source which supplies a flow of gas into an air tube having a bubbler branch and a patient branch. A first tube that is connected to the bubbler branch is at least partially submerged in a fluid. An oscillatory relief valve cycles between first and second configurations. The relief valve includes an oscillating member which captures gas released through at least one hole in the first tube when the oscillating member is in a first position. The gas in the oscillating member causes the oscillating member to rise to a second position, wherein gas is released from the oscillating member and the at least one hole is blocked when the oscillating member reaches the second position.
