    Abstract: A device for positioning a needle tip to a desired location by signaling pressure change is provided. The device includes a barrel, a piston, a biasing element, and a plunger. The barrel defines a reservoir, and it includes a distal end connectable to a puncturing apparatus. The plunger is slidably engaged with the piston, and both are movable within the reservoir. The biasing element connects the plunger and the piston, and its change in length corresponds to the relative position of the plunger and piston. In operation, the piston is at a first position relative to the plunger when the biasing element is at a first length. The piston later moves to a second relative position in response to the biasing element's change of the length resulting from a pressure change inside the reservoir when the puncturing apparatus reaches a location of a mass. The position's change of the piston is visually detectable.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for injecting one or more agents into tissue within a patient's body. In one embodiment, an injection device includes a substantially axially incompressible elongate member including a lumen extending between proximal and distal ends thereof. A distal stop is provided on the distal end and a needle tip extends distally beyond the distal stop, the needle tip having a cross-section smaller than the distal end. The needle tip includes a passage communicating between the lumen and an outlet in the distal tip that has having a cross-section smaller than the lumen. In an exemplary embodiment, the elongate member includes a coil extending between the proximal and distal ends, and a sleeve disposed within an interior region of the coil extending between the proximal and distal ends. The sleeve defines the lumen and may be free-floating within at least a portion of the coil.

The device can also include a pressure sensor for determining whether there is proper attachment. Further, a bladder may be used instead of the adhesive layer for attaching the device. The bladder, in a partially inflated state, can apply constant pressure across a contact surface causing a flexible adhesive layer attached to the bladder to confirm and adhere to the tissue. Subsequent evacuation of the bladder causes it to deflate and collapse or retract, thereby causing the flexible adhesive layer to pull and stretch the tissue toward the base.

The hub body may include a centering tab to align the tension member along a longitudinal axis of the hub body.

The End-of-Content tube is moved axially forward during dose setting a distance which correlates to the size of the dose being set. When the accumulated set and ejected dose equals the injectable amount initially available in the cartridge (3), the End-of-Content tube engages a lock mechanism provided in the piston rod guide and the driver engages a stop surface on the End-of-Content tube. Once the End-of-Content mechanism is locked, no further dose can be set and the piston rod guide cannot be rotated. In order to provide a proper engagement between the piston rod guide and the driver, the End-of-Content mechanism is released during dose expelling.

The catheter can further be advanced through the DA into the abdominal aorta and rotated to access branch arteries including the vessels of the lower extremities. The catheters are usable for flush aortography, arteriography, and intravascular pressure measurements, and can be introduced to the BCA or LSC via radial artery access.
