Abstract: An umbrella shaft supporting stand adapted to be secured between a pair of parallel joists, wherein the joists each include parallel side surfaces which face and are spaced from each other a distance X. The supporting stand comprises a U-shaped bracket defined by a pair of wings and a central beam extending therebetween. A sleeve is secured to the bracket beam and defines a bore adapted to receive an umbrella shaft receiving tube which receives an umbrella shaft, or which directly receives an umbrella shaft. Each of the wings include parallel side surfaces that face away from and are spaced from each other a distance that matches the distance X. The bracket is secured to the joists by locating the wings between the joists with each of the wing side surfaces located adjacent to and facing a respective joist side surface and fastening the wings to the respective adjacent joist.

Abstract: A tracking reference fixation support configured to fasten a medical tracking reference to a patient's head, the fixation support comprising an elastically deformable base-plate having a bottom surface, the base-plate being configured to rest via the bottom surface against the surface of a patient's head; an interface-plate providing an interface for rigidly attaching a medical tracking reference to the fixation support; and at least one joint that couples the interface-plate to the base-plate, which allows the base-plate to deform while the interface-plate remains substantially dimensionally stable. The invention further relates to a corresponding tracking reference headband and to a corresponding method of providing a patient's head with a tracking reference.

Abstract: Introduced here is an umbrella stand capable of securely holding umbrellas of various sizes, shapes, and weights. The umbrella stand includes a base and a holder portion. The base includes mechanisms to secure the umbrella stand to a surface such as ground spikes or suction cups. The holder portion is connected to the base via abutments that protrude up from the periphery of the base. The holder portion and the base are separated by a gap. The holder portion includes tightening mechanisms and a door. The tightening mechanisms help securely hold an umbrella handle or shaft and can adjust the angle at which the umbrella is held. The door, in combination with the gap, allow a user to use the umbrella stand with umbrellas with handles of various shapes and sizes.

In some embodiments, the support assembly comprises a support portion having an upper end and a lower end, an anchoring portion having a penetration end and support end, a receptacle portion having a support end and a receptacle end, the penetration end of the anchoring portion comprising a sharpened tine whereby the anchoring portion may be forced into the wall without the need to drill a hole, and the receptacle end of the receptacle portion having a u-shape whereby the receptacle portion is configured to receive and retain a curtain rod. In some embodiments, anchoring portion comprises an arcuate member. In some embodiments, the anchoring portion comprises a straight member.

Abstract: A solar panel support apparatus comprising: a support frame for holding the solar panel; a support post pivotally connected to the support frame at a post pivot connection and anchored to an adjacent supporting surface, the support post for positioning the support frame above the supporting surface; and a linear actuator coupled at a proximal end to the support post by a support pivot connection and at a distal end by a frame pivot connection with the support frame, the post pivot connection and the frame pivot connection spaced apart from one another on the support frame; wherein a change in a length of the linear actuator results in pivoting of the support frame about the post pivot connection.

Abstract: A ladder stabilizer for step ladders and extension ladders. The ladder stabilizer is collapsible for storage. Additionally, the ladder stabilizer includes legs that are adjustable in length and pivotally secured to a rigid lateral support. The rigid lateral support also carries a step plate secured by a hinge to the lateral support. The step plate provides the point of engagement between the ladder stabilizer and a rung of the ladder.

Abstract: A ladder stabilizer where respective ladder rails 12 and 13 pass through rail clamp sections 14 and 15 so that the feet 16 and 17 of the ladder engage the ground. The stabilizer has feet 18 and 19 which also engage the ground. These are at the end of a rail providing respective outriggers 20 and 21 so that the stabilizing forces and moments are across the bottom of the ladder. Clamps make the whole stabilizer and ladder rigid. Rails 12 and 13 are clamped in the clamp sections 14 and 15 which are in turn clamped along the outriggers, the feet are also clamped in height adjustable position. Hand operable screw clamps 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 permit adjustment so that the legs and rails and clamp sections may be positioned to best stabilize the ladder 11.

An insert includes a first portion configured to fit within an opening for the gutter and a second portion configured to form a channel configured to receive a front surface of the gutter. A number of arms extend from the second portion. The arms are selectively deformable into a number of positions, and may be wrapped around side rails of the ladder.

Abstract: A movable umbrella base comprises a housing (1), a wheel frame (2) disposed under the bottom of the housing (1), at least three wheels (3) connected at intervals to the wheel frame (2) and located partially under the wheel frame (2), a plurality of air bags (4) located inside a space defined by the wheel frame (2) and the housing (1), and a plurality of elastic members (6) limit displacement of the wheel frame (2) and the wheels (3) from the housing (1); when the air bags (4) are inflated, the housing (1) is lifted up relative to the wheel frame (2) and the wheels (3) from the ground; when the air bags (4) are deflated, the housing (1) is lowered relative to the wheel frame (2) and the wheels (3) and contacts the ground. The umbrella base can be moved by the air bags (4), the whole operation process is easier, and it saves more time and effort.
